It took me a decade to change from CRT to LCD, i think it will take the same for a aspect ratio change like this.
Yeah, keep looking at the QHD ultrawides and wondering whether they're worth the premium over a 4K screen. Use to run two screens side by side back in the day and liked it other than the huge bar down the middle. 1080p isn't quite enough vertical pixels to this seems to be the sweet spot.
i keep thinking about getting a bigger screen but i am not sure about curved screen it would be nice to know if they are worth getting
So curvy...
I actually thing curved will be fine for monitor, but i would not like TV to be that way.
At £399 for the 100Hz model, that's an absolute steal!
That much of a difference? Trying to talk myself out of buying the Samsung ls34j550 for £279 as I don't like spending money, but the step up to the next level (curved, 100Hz, w/VESA) is about another £200.
It's weird, but can be very cool.
However, you do always notice it and, in various types of games, it actually gets a bit tiresome having to keep turning your head that much further. For this reason, I know several people who have indeed gone back to flat screens. Some also didn't get on so well with the VA panels, I believe... not sure why.
I liked it and it's certainly worth trying, to see if it suits your requirements. Not sure I'd fully convert just yet, though.

The extra peripheral vision in games like PUBG is a HUGE advantage, and the extra on-screen area that you can see in RTS games like the AOEII remaster just gives you a big edge as you can spot attacks/enemy movements earlier.
It's so much of an advantage that competitive shooters are starting to ban 21:9 in competitive scenes - some, like Overwatch, force you to play in 16:9 with black bars for example as the difference is so great.
I now only have a single monitor as I don't need 2, and can't imagine ever going back.
4k Just gives you more pixels and lower framerates at the moment really, and whilst it might look slightly better, it doesn't offer you a competitive advantage like going UW does.
In a way, this is kind of sad - I realised this week that there is a new element to "pay to win"...if you can afford a high end mouse, keyboard, monitor, GPU and internet connection, you get an automatic advantage over those that cannot. I forsee some big issues with eSports in the future as a result...
Both of these screens seem a bargain to me - OK so they are missing HDR and G-Sync, but at £500 I think you can't really go wrong. Next step up is something like the LG34GK950F/G for around £1000 (gets you IPS, G-Sync & HDR400) and the PG35VQ at over double that (for 200hz/Gsync U and HDR1000).
Excellent to finally see some good value Ultrawides in the market
I used to have "don't pay to win" when I had a computer that slowed down slightly when someone was close to me in Counter Strike A bit of an advantage knowing someone was around the corner even when they weren't moving! A few years ago now though...
Think maybe save my pennies, the CU34G2 looks pretty much perfect except for the red accents - VESA, good refresh rate and freesync range, internal power supply, even USB as a bonus - should be worth the extra £120 when it comes out
