£5.99 so i can binge the mandalorian and then cancel, sounds fair :)
Or if we're lucky, a free trial for the same purpose!

You say that, but is it confirmed that we're getting The Mandalorian in the UK/Europe?
I'm feeling a Netflix UK vs US thing might rear it's ugly head, where we'll only get a fraction, no matter how large, of the overall available programming and that key things like The Mandalorian might be missed out.

An interesting point, especially considering a lot of the Disney content is normally available through SKY. Although as Disney have done with Netflix, I think I recall reading something about the same thing happening to SKY as well and the content will become exclusive on Disney+ once the agreement runs out.
I think this is one of the wait until launch things for everything to become clearer.

Already happened at end of 2019. A load of content just disappeared

Anyone in the UK who really wanted to see the Mandalorian would have seen it by now so I hope Disney+ have something else in their catalogue to entice new subscribers.

Yeah it is confirmed, Disney have said that it was essentially holding it back outside the US to coincide with the launches in other countries.... it's also part of the reason the mandalorian took over as the most pirated series of the year....
Honestly... my exact reaction when disney announced their own streaming platform was... oh joy, another one (same with apple one too)... I wasn't alone in this view from what I've seen and I can honestly see reports coming soon saying that piracy is on the rise again, it's been decreasing, because of the increasing number of streaming services splitting stuff up again. The visual media companies never learn and the sad thing is that with Disney's bank balance and what it actually owns now (they own a LOT of tv and movie stuff) I can actually see them pushing out others by not allowing others access and giving them nothing to show then jacking the price sky high...

This, they need to make a standard api that all the streamers follow so you can have 'players' that just present all the content you subscribe to..

That's the truth but will NEVER happen...

Re: Disney+ starts streaming in Europe on Tuesday, 24th March
Hard-core star wars fans will have already pirated The Mandalorian. This significantly removes the point to subscribe to this for many and I'm yet to hear of anything else worth subscribing for...
Too little, too late and far too poorly implemented.

Not sure about that. If they supply their apps to Sky and VM, then their search facility would look throughout all services. Not sure about Sky, but my Virgin box searches through Amazon Prime and Netflix as well as normal programming

Re: Disney+ starts streaming in Europe on Tuesday, 24th March
Nah, I'm happy to spend a fiver a month on a TV subscription - I'm not happy to spend that multiple times due to fragmentation.
I get for some people TV is their world and they're happy to pay whatever, but I'm not one of those. For the few programs that I really want to see, I'll find alternative means of watching them.
Studios controlling distribution is not helpful for the consumer.

Re: Disney+ starts streaming in Europe on Tuesday, 24th March
I've already subbed for now (have to VPN to use it but you can sign up with UK payment info...which is odd)
There is some nice content but they are going to need the 20th Century Fox content to make it worthwhile, unless of course you are a die-hard disney fan (which the misses is =/ )
I have actualy watched a number of VERY old Disney films that I never even knew existed. Some of the Net Geo stuff is also nice....but the actual amount of content is very low, even for £6pm
