    No timescale is mentioned for that further halving of transistor size.
    That makes it sound so easy

    Transistors size is limited by the feature size but in two dimensions, so if things scale perfectly going from 6nm to 3nm should give you transistors a quarter of the size, not half. Hence you can work out the next node by dividing the feature size by 1.4, the square root of two. That makes the next full node from 7nm the 5nm node, which doesn't sound impressive, but really it is.

    Qualcomm's announcement was for 5nm product so that should be ramping up soon, but 3nm is another full node beyond that so I wouldn't hold your breath.
