It'll be a mediocre upgrade to the exact same processors released 6-9 months ago but with extra throttling if the vendors don't do their cooling right.

From what I'm seeing around the web I think I'd be looking for a ryzen rig over one of these.... Am I right in thinking these don't have the 'spectre' fixes yet?

These are going to have a pretty high price tag if previous ones are anything to go by and it seems AMD is pricing things 'fairly' for the performance etc.

Why do sites keep letting Intel get away with saying single threaded performance gives better gaming performance ? It's a technicality, as it tends to mean an extra few frames when it's already in the hundreds.

8 cores on a mobile i7 could mean effectively price cuts (saving the i9 tax), but you'd need bigger cuts than that to compete with AMD

that 8c/16t i7 vs an otherwise pretty similar R7 4800H machine:

The i7-10750H machines are priced to compete with the 4800H ones.

Oof, rip intel. I guess most laptop buyers aren't as well informed as us, so intel's assuming their name will keep sales up, but that won't last long
