Re: Whirlwind FX Element keyboard mirrors on-screen action in RGB

New keyboard offers a very crude attempt to immitate on-screen action... But who even sees what the keyboard is doing in the midst of a hectic on-screen encounter, anyway?
At least my Logitech G19 screen applets actually have purpose in games.

Also not a fan of mech boards where the RGB spills out around the key sides, like that. I'm playing around with a Corsair K95 at the minute and it's hideous.

Indeed, as does my Razer, and a corsair owner's iCue I prefer to use project Aurora as the scripting & colourising tool over Razers in most cases, but tbh both work well for different cases.

My main games all have custom layouts & triggers - e.g. for PUBG I have grenade timers that tick down on my numpad (based on key press, so accounts for cooking too ), or in WoW WeakAura can trigger keyboard lighting rather than just on-screen hotkeys (with a profile per class here, which is fun).

Some titles have baked in API support for keyboards too which is nice, although sadly not many for Razer ;/ Farcry 5 has some nice integration with iCue for example. I wish more did, would mean less work for me & others in writing profiles!

I would like a keyboard with light in it, but i doubt i would use that light in several colors and surely not animated.
Stuff like that i am sure would drive me insane. ( more insane )

Different colours are surprisingly useful and work better in different light conditions. My main board has red and green profiles, plus a sort of orangey-yellow, depending on whether it's blindingly-bright Summer daylight, not-so-bright Winter light, or night gaming in near darkness.
My work laptop is backlit in white and is hideous, especially later in the day.

Animated can be fun and also useful, long as it's a per-key pattern. Having keys like WASD in a different colour, with media keys blinking when on mute/pause, or the macro keys flashing when certain abilities are active... plenty of uses if you're a little creative about it. Spaceship pilots probably find more uses than the average, I'd guess.
But again, you can always turn them all off....

Re: Whirlwind FX Element keyboard mirrors on-screen action in RGB

My only problem is too little light, been living in this apartment for 8 years now, and have not put up a single light.

Not that i don't have any, behind me in the living room i have a floor light with 2 X 15 W LED, and i have a 9W LED light on the computer table.
My bedroom never had a light source, so looking for stuff in there at night i use a flashlight, otherwise i am good navigating to my bed with no light due to a weak pilot light on a mains extender.
So a illuminated keyboard would be nice when i forget to turn on the desk light on the floor light behind me.
Dont have a TV anymore, that was sort off my main light source in the living room, but i am a free man now and no house alter to pay at.
Only been 3 months with no TV and already i can feel my brain work better, though many will disagree on this of course.

Who looks at their keyboard in the midst of action during games? Enough with the boring rgb added onto everything to try and sell it. We aren't all 12 and sucked in by it. I'd rather have some technological advances than crap colours I'm never going to use.

Basically, this is to make pr0n more immersive by replicating the movement of a pair of buttocks on the keyboard. Got it. Next silly RGB product, please.
