Honor 6x and Honor 10 Lite

    Both excellent

Did have a Huawei P20 which was better than both, but dropped it and smashed it.

Still on my OnePlus 3. Got upgraded to Android 9 but there won't be any further updates, so may have to look at changing it this year. For what I paid for it, it's been great.

Re: QOTW: Which mobile phone do you use?

Samsung S10 (512GB Edition) - I find this the perfect device for on-the-go photographic use in conjunction with GoPro / DJI Mavic 2 Pro - giving the ability to view footage on the device itself or on a large screen via Dex mode (e.g. on a hotel room screen, when travelling light).

Still also have an Samsung S7 Edge, which remains a useful piece of kit 4 years on from point of purchase (my previous iPhones always felt incredibly creaky and gutless by the time they reached 18 months - part of the reason for jumping off of the iOS bandwagon in 2016).

Samsung Galaxy S8. Got it last year, so as a 2 year old model was well down in price. Mobile phones aren't important enough to me, for me to pay top whack. Mid-range price for high-end phone is OK though.

iPhone 6S, its probably about due for replacement, but I really don't like not having a home button on my phone, nor do I want to carry around anything overly large so not sure where I am going to go next...

Re: QOTW: Which mobile phone do you use?

iPhone 7, bought it new but about 18 months ago - not an early adopter!
It's OK, generally pretty good all rounder but also drives me mad in some aspects (as did the android phones I had previously).

e.g. Autocorrect is turned off, but autocorrect still happens. It's especially an issue when slide typing which I mostly do because it'll go back to earlier in a sentence and change words for me that were fine, usually to something completely unrelated. That's my biggest gripe with it really but one that permeates almost every message interaction I have.

Definitely got worse as an issue when upgrading to IOS13 and I'd think about swapping it, but haven't found another phone that doesn't have it's own foibles to deal with.

How do you pick a phone when you really need a week long test drive to see if there's anything to make you regret your purchase?

Re: QOTW: Which mobile phone do you use?

    Galaxy S5 Neo.
Works fine... Very well, in fact. Can't say there's anything wrong with it, that isn't just a symptom of being a typical slab form-factor of a Smartphone.

Had it since it came out.
Is very thin, so works best inside a case. The Otterbox Defender was my go-to until I got a Joby stand and needed it narrower to fit, so opted for a generic rubberised plastic one.

    Certainly lives up to expectations.
Probably won't upgrade until a new form factor becomes viable and affordable, so probably 3-4 years when everyone is using folding devices... or maybe if a Gemini/GPD WIN device with wireless ears can be made workable.

Re: QOTW: Which mobile phone do you use?

I just got a OnePlus 7T and I am really pleased with it. Well made and their version of Android is not filled with bloatware.
It came with a case and screen saver already fitted. It is much zippier than the Xperia Z5 it replaced (no surprise there, it is 5 years old). The fast charging is a revelation.
I also get a strong signal where the Z5 would not get one at all (it is the same sim card and provider).
I didn't really like the stretched 21:9 new Xperias, which is a shame as I have always liked the Sony range of phones.

Huawei Mate 20 X. The 7.2" screen and dolby stereo speakers are just amazing. Plus combined with a huge 5000mah battery means it lasts me a few days. Triple camera set-up is pretty good too.

Re: QOTW: Which mobile phone do you use?

Using a Huawei P20 Pro at the moment but the contract is up for renewal soon, the battery life is great, the camera is still really good and all my apps are still snappy and responsive well into its lifespan. I was tempted to go for the P30 Pro next but I don't need it so I am probably going to keep this for another year or so before upgrading I think. Better to keep the bill down for a bit and wait for something actually interesting and worthwhile to release I think.

Re: QOTW: Which mobile phone do you use?

    Moto X Play.

It's okay for my usage, as for me the smart features side of things are mostly there as a backup for when PC access isn't possible, but it's stuck on Android 7.1.2 whether you choose the official source or LineageOS (as the latter also dropped support).

It's just a matter of time before I replace it with something newer, it just depends upon what catches my eye that I also hope has as long term support (by way of updates) as possible.

HONOR 10 Lite, my Huewei P8 started having issues.

I just get budget phones and have a sim only contract. Much cheaper than a contract with a 'free' phone.
