Libya! – sheesh, This is responsible of DICE to have such a map, As if the poor country hasn’t got enough on its plate, and A game maker is desensitising the situation People are currently living in by making a Map around it. No DICE! No thanks! Just No!

I couldn't roll my eyes any harder at this response. Where exactly should they set a game about *WARS* then? In diplomatically stable areas? 'cus that would make total sense. Did you have the same response about any of their other maps? How about CoD maps? Any maps in any other games?

Do you not think that setting a map in this location might actually raise some awareness for the situation over there? Many people have absolutely zero clue so this is nothing but positive exposure. Also, if people are desensitised to it, blame the news and other social factors like the phenomenom of people not being particularly bothered by events in foreign language nations. Dice are doing absolutely nothing wrong here.

When Dr Samuel Johnson had written the first dictionary he was visited by a delegation from London's Respectable Womanhood who congratulated him on his "decision to exclude all indecent words from your dictionary" and he responded with "Madam, I congratulate you in your persistence in looking them up".

People will find whatever they can to be offended about these days and it's because society has lent some kind of credibility all its own to an argument from the offended. It's like having a discussion, and they roll "offended" which is clearly +10.

I was accused of "personally" offending someone at work who heard about a joke I made and, even though she wasn't in the room or related to the joke in any way, aside from working in the place where it was made, I was confronted about it. My response was "okay?" followed by "fair enough".

It is such a relief she has never heard the story about the sweetcorn and how it got me free food in Birmingham at a CS clan meet.

"you’ll receive Battlefield Currency or Company Coin as Weekly Rewards, giving you a chance to unlock gear you may have missed"
That alone would turn me off the game, if i dident already was as its no secret what it is.

I am not buying or playing anything that need me to upgrade / unlock / buy anything.
More people should do the same.

Re: Battlefield V final standalone update to arrive in June

No i was turned off BF already on the #1 game, where i also think you have to choose spawn spot when you have been killed.
There should only be 1 spawn spot for each side and so no need to choose it, also i think BF also have categories you have to choose and you rely on teammates boosting your health.
    And probably other silly things.
There should not be medics - engineers - combat dentists and defensive vegans or yourself hiding behind a crate while you stab yourself with needles in a game, you just run and gun and find guns and ammo - health + whatever on the ground where it spawn.
Doom eternal still have a little of that good old vibe, but they have layered it with stuff i dont like so not going there either.

Re: Battlefield V final standalone update to arrive in June

Battlefield 5 has been a broken game from the start with the rough launch it had, The games visibility has been a massive problem for the Game, Your playing the game and cant even see the enemy.
The hoped an update would help to fix the issue but not much.
You have Tanks pull up right next to you and cant even hear them. Early in the game people could snipe each other from long ranges with
weapons that weren’t meant to deal with that long range damage. etc

The EA/DICE has pushed so many core Battlefield players away, its impacted its reputation & its trust.
One of the beauties of Battlefield games for the Core gamers were the competitive matches. They promised they were working on this, Only for it to be scrapped! disappointing alot of players in the process.
Westie comments about DICE & DICE LA are spot on. Hes got a great Tick list for the Next Battlefield game that both EA & DICE should pay attention to.

Personally I haven't played BF since 4, too much new stuff to pay for rather than fixing the existing bugs and so on..

Re: Battlefield V final standalone update to arrive in June

two massive problems - EA BS and then loot boxes etc.

Re the choice of Libya, not a great idea I agree, but not abnormal if you think back through the franchise. We've had China and Iraq back in BF2 IIRC?

"anti-cheat team are working daily towards making the battlefield experience as free of foul play as possible"
Is that the useless Fairplay system.
    What a joke.

Until they realise that there's no such thing as anti cheat software there's no hope.
