    Because of the integrated graphics?

Another rumour has popped up that Mattise 2,ie, Zen2 refresh is locked to B550 and X570.

It might be the case for this too, even though it's exactly the same Zen2 cores.

If anything as Renoir, has less connectivity,ie,no PCI-E 4.0,and no chiplets,at least on the CPU side it probably is more straightforward to support than the Zen2 CPUs.

Zen CPUs are SOCs,so I would imagine the CPU part is more important in terms of microcode support??

You don't even need a proper chipset to boot a Zen based CPU.

Ah, the old switch from "I can't wait to see what is released next!" to "ppppppppplease don't release anything amazing, I've just spent a fortune and want to not regret it for the longest period of time possible!"....

Yup a huge slew of new cpus with all the microcode and stuff....
An extra 22 models to support is cutting it fine. I'm not so bothered as still on 2000 series cpus here at moment

They are Zen2,so shouldn't be a problem IMHO. There is zero reason for Matisse2 to need any more update as it's a clockspeed bump AFAIK,ie at most 200MHZ. Most of the newer Zen2 CPUs apparently overclock better,so this is more down to improved 7NM yields I suspect.

    Anyway,we will see what happens.

Yup - I mean adding another 22 to the stack now means the Zen3 is pushed out

TBF,with BIOSes you can always make stuff which is more selective, and lots of the X570 motherboards have puny 16MB BIOSes too!

I think this is probably AMD trying to just cut costs, etc. Companies should try not to promise things, they can't keep to! Time to get that Zen 3000 before they become like secondhand gold

Should be one module that knows how that sort of chip has cache, ram, power states etc set up, which includes a table with the details for the 22 part numbers within that family.

You could put one in an Asrock Deskmini A300, except we need to wait for them to make a new motherboard. I presume that would be an A500 complete lack of chipset rather than the A300 complete lack of chipset on the current board (in case anyone isn't aware, A300 motherboards don't actually have a chipset they drive everything off the APU using it as an SoC.)

Edit: Google says there is a "Pro 500" lack of chipset, not much in the way of details though.

Sadly YOU wont get it , see, your not worthy . they keep all the low watt parts for the oem's only . I've been looking for a 10/15/25w AMD NUC for some time, and they just dont exist. And when these chips are new , all the chips will be in short supply. I'd reckon in amybe a 12/18 months something might dribble out. AMD aint no Elon Musk, hell Elon musk aint what he used to be. But these new chinese CPU's with built-in Virus blocker ??

Have seen them, but they are pretty big and normally poverty spec. I want something small, in a nice case with PCIe storage and thunderbolt and quier. Happy to pay. Might be next year and USB4 though to see that.
