Many a bad thing has been done in the name of "the greater good". Take the NSA's and GCHQ's hovering up all our personally data for example, that was done for "the greater good" and we're still living with it two decades later, the Investigatory Powers Act was passed for the supposed greater good but personally i don't see what good comes from bulk data collection (guilty or not), i don't see what good is served from my ISP keeping a history of what websites i visit despite being innocent, i don't see what greater good is served by government department managers being able to view those records without a warrant, etc, etc, so on and so forth.

While that may have been true in the past it's no longer the case, we've given up those freedoms because people didn't defend them, it's why are China and Russia are modelling their surveillance laws after those already enacted in the UK and America, we can't exactly criticise them when they're simply copy us.

I couldn't decide what video to post in my previous post (hence the edit), however if you think we're one of the free-est societies in the world then it's only because they've done a good job of either hiding what's going on or making it seem acceptable.

Hell rubbishrubbishrubbishrubbishing no! Its all about control and domination with these globalist perverts! Hell no I won't take Bill Gates vaccine, the asshat didn't want to drink his own "recycled" water that he was pushing on all of us. If its so good, drink it, if the vaccines are so safe he should publically take it and we should literally be able to see the vaccine batch, number, date, see it open in front of multiple cameras and media, and administered live into him. And then from that exact batch only I'd know its safe!

oh dear someone has failed the basic intelligence test of being able to discern truth from BS fake news. Bill gates does not have a vaccine, is not involved in a conspiracy and while we're at it 5G is safe.

Re: QOTW: Will you use a coronavirus contact-tracing app?

Given that the 'app' was co-written by the bods at GCHQ and Palantir, - err No. What worries me more is the integration of the app into the NHS data infrastructure.
Matt Hancock - The UK Health Minister has already said that UK patient data is already being sold across the world - Apparently 'anonymised'.
And the Gentle Viking thinks Denmark is bad.....

No. They don't want me. I'm on the other side of the Welsh border.

It's not like I'm going anywhere in the foreseeable future anyway, unless I catch the bug.

Two confirmed cases among our village neighbours.

No - I would if I trusted the current government one iota but I don't. Sorry. I'm happy to avoid contact with people but trust that lot - just no.

Re: QOTW: Will you use a coronavirus contact-tracing app?

Of course I'll use it. I am both not completely paranoid and smart enough to know that I gave any information this app will discover to numerous other companies years ago for their personal profit, so why would I not give it out for an app designed to save lives and allow us to not spend 23 hours a day imprisoned in our own homes?

If you have a smart phone you are being snooped anyway. Personally no I won't load any extra App to my phone , damn thing gives me enough problems as it is.

Not with Palantir in the supply chain.

I wouldn't give them the time of day let alone access to a smart phone.

Seems to me this boils down to political belief - some people think big brother is watching them with malevolent intent. Well, sorry to shatter your illusions but the government isn't in the least bit interested in you - unless you're doing something illegal in which case, it's good! Maybe more criminals will be caught and make the place better for everyone else. The people that are interested in you are the Googles and Amazons of this world because they can make money from the data they collect.

Make money like Palantir do? I know the government has no interest in me (even if I don't quite subscribe to your 'Nothing to hide = nothing to fear' logic,) but it does have an interest in my vote, and how to understand me and try to influence it in future.

    Rubbish, this is an excerpt taken straight from the policies related to the app;

Whilst the NHS COVID-19 App will ensure that information processed within the NHS COVID-19 App cannot be linked to any individuals, there may be requests to process data from the App for research purposes, which may be linked with identifiable data.
So how sure are you that the information collected is anonymous? It isn't. It's pseudonymised data, which is ironically still classed as personal data. So what's going to happen to that data? It clearly isn't going to be used just for one purpose.

Also, how many security vulnerabilities were discovered related to BlueTooth communications over the last few years? I can think of BlueBorne as one of them, I'm certain there were more. Yet you're saying to everyone that they should expose themselves to potential security vulnerabilities, from a hacked together application that bypasses security processes put in place by the likes of Apple etc, "for the greater good"?

    No, no I don't think I will.

The Head of NHSX said on record that after the pandemic the data set would be available for future research. That's 2 purposes already, contact tracing & research. Research is also very broad term.
