Looks decent. Literally just bought an HTC Vive Cosmos as well, might've held off for one of these if they review well.

Without the external lighthouse sensors though it's flawed, anyone who's used a mixed reality headset, will be able to confirm.

Re: HP launches its Reverb G2 next gen VR headset

Interesting - I am in the market for a new headset and this seems to tick most of the boxes....the big one being the lack of base stations, IF the tracking works well enough.

I'm still using my original Rift CV1 and it still does the job, but its about time to upgrade imo, especially if we see more titles like Half Life:Alyx come out that really showcase VR.

Will wait to see the reviews and final UK retailer pricing- and if HP sell them through their student/employee discounts schemes too which would make it more attractive

I've not had a single issue with inside-out tracking on my Vive Cosmos yet, seems to work flawlessly. The Rift S also receives great reviews on its tracking. I imagine this, with the help of Microsoft and Valve, will be equally as good.

The headset looks appealing. Adding to the shopping list in the near future

Re: HP launches its Reverb G2 next gen VR headset

So Valve collaborated on this, despite it being in direct competition with the Vive and Index?
Or is it not actually in competition and they're getting a slice of that pie as well?

Either way, it's good to have more choice and great to see some progress in this corner of the industry...

Re: HP launches its Reverb G2 next gen VR headset

    -Good resolution
    -Decent refresh rate
-inside-out tracking which is generally cheaper and less annoying than putting laser turrets everywhere
    -proper headgear, no headband-junk
    -headphone integrated
Good specs for that price, but I'll stick with my Pimax 8K+ with the higher FoV for now. The technology is definitely moving in the right direction.

Re: HP launches its Reverb G2 next gen VR headset

The lack of external sensors is a massive plus for me. My PC is squashed in quite a small area. Making external sensors difficult, if not impossible.
Suddenly, my interest is peaked in VR. Will watch this closely.

In regards " Microsoft and Valve, will be equally as good" this is exactly what I said (deleted). All I can say is the WMR headsets I've used are terrible, I don't have the Vive, so can't comment, VR still has a long way to go unfortunately.

VR is not ready yet for me. Few more generations.
