Why? Everything you talk about suggests it will be very capable!Quote:

Didn't we already know this?
I thought it was announced but people were tripping up over Ryzen 4 and Zen 4, and incorrectly assumed that the 4000 series would be on 5nm?
so if they really do have 5nm capacity and AMD don't want it yet (assuming Zen 4 isn't ready), what do they do with it? Do the fabs go to intel and ask if they can use it? If I were AMD I'd be throwing something in there to stop it going elsewhere. If Zen4 is ready they could start production and have a good amount of stock ready to roll, in which case zen3 will be a very short lived affair I fear.
It would make sense for AMD to work on the refined 7nm process while they iron out any potential kinks in 5nm, especially if they intend to bring 5nm to server chips first (assumption)? That's where the real money probably lays for AMD, so I expect they've probably already booked a certain amount of future capacity in that regard considering they work well in advance of releases.
