Did a quick test in 3DMark with the setting on (Ryzen 5& Gtx 1660) and it scored lower, mostly in the CPU benchmark. Haven't tried any games yet but so far it seems to be much hype about nothing.
The story of what is to come from this significant background change will become clearer later, teases Pronovost.
We're in July and I'm still waiting for the 'May' update..

The AdoredTV website did some performance tests:

I have this feeling this is more for next gen xbox (and games that might get pc versions) and maybe gpu computing (think opencl/cuda) on the pc rather than current games which were all built with the old scheduler in mind.
Isn't this a bit late sort of thing, I'd understand if we were all still running 2 or 4 core CPU's and running a high priority scheduler on one of those cores could cause a CPU bottleneck but now we're starting to get more cores than you could shake a stick at does it matter so much?
Not that i known much about scheduling but from my prehaps wrong laymans understanding it seem to make logical sense, at least to me.
The articles I linked to show some games had either performance improvements or regressions with the update, and the game which regressed was a DX12 one. However,Nvidia uses software scheduling and AMD uses hardware scheduling.
Most of the people here are completely right.
It's gonna take a f@%$%n miracle for Microsoft to pull
their finger out and start optimizing something,
anything. Win10 has more bells and whistles that
serve no purpose.
I tested this on a few seemingly CPU intensive strategy games I had on my PC with built in benchmarks (Supreme Commander Forged Alliance, Ashes of the Singularity Escalation and Total War Warhammer 2) and found no difference whatsoever in performance. So I'm keeping it off for now.
