Whilst I agree it's poor Intel (probably) this product won't do any serious damage to Intel and its brand. Expensive product with expensive requirements (8 channel ram for instance) but also a killer.... but won't switch anyone away soon...

I'm still not entirely sure I see the benefit of using Threadripper branding for a pro workstation rather than an EPYC sub-brand, particularly when the processors are spec-identical to and (presumably) platform-compatible with EPYC, and not with standard Threadripper. No doubt these will leak out through retail channels and confuse the hell out of some people.
