More likely just that it doesn't impact enough of the user base to present that big a problem.
What is the bug, anyway?

But that app can't actually adjust system and peripheral settings, launch apps, record and run macros, or do whatever in-game stuff Corsair has lined up for Gamerz.... My G19 can do most of that, long as you have Logitech peripherals. Thsi is just a more up-to-date, Corsair branded version of it.

I'd be minded to agree with you -except for the fact that Corsair *have* fixed some other bugs that affect the same group of products. Back around iCue 3.22 they fixed another long-standing issue where power consumption (and hence efficiency) figures on the AXi (and possibly other -i) PSUs were being misreported.
Of course this range does have a bit of a reputation for unreliability and going bang - possibly due to a design fault that allows mounting screws to touch/damage the PCB and components. As such I wonder what percentage of stock is still in regular use. I think they're great - I have two here and have put probably a dozen others in systems I've built and they are rock solid. And they still have a number of years of warranty support left so it's a bit frustrating to see Corsair undertake to fix stuff and then not bother.

The main outstanding one is that iCue loses contact with the PSU after the system is put to sleep or hibernated. So as well as hardware monitoring being lost, any user-set fan control profile also reverts to default. The only "simple" fixes are either rebooting or physically disconnecting/reconnecting the PSU from the internal USB/Link header and manually reapplying the fan profile, both of which are pretty annoying. The old Corsair Link software didn't have this problem so it's not a hardware limitation. iCue just doesn't re-initialise the driver when the system resumes.

How many people complained about those bugs compared to this one, though?
If yours is but one voice among thousands of uncomplaining users, for example, then they won't see it as that big an issue.

So presumably something to do with where the profile settings are being stored, perhaps in a RAM cache or whatever that gets periodically cleared when sleep mode is used?

I know of several similar products from other manufacturers that have similar problems. I don't recall reading about a solution, but it's reckoned to have something to do with having it write instructions via the internal USB.
Regardless though, I hope this takes off for Corsair, so someone else can see the market opportunity and make a better one.
Re: Corsair launches iCUE Nexus companion touch screen
It looks OK. I love the low profile K70 MK.2, which apparently this can fit to (although it is not clear if the mount for that keyboard is included?).
I have two displays, so I am able to monitor things on the second display. However, since one is FreeSync and one is not, I get frame pacing issues if I use that non-FreeSync display with anything GPU accelerated (e.g. Task Manager's performance tab, which my favourite tool I've found for monitoring GPU). This might be a slightly insane workaround for that.
Or, like mentioned earlier in the thread, I could use an old phone with some form of monitoring software. That's a solid idea!
