    Apple announces major updates to the 27-inch iMac

    They wield faster Intel processors up to 10 cores, and AMD's Radeon Pro 5000 GPUs.

    They really need to update that design. It's not changed in more than 10 years.

    I don't think we'll see a redesign until they release the new models with Apple CPUs in them.

    So, I just went to spec their new iMac on their US site.

    That new screen with nano coating is optional. And that will cost you +500USD! The coating.

    Top config will cost you 8799USD for 10cores Intel CPU, 128Gb, 16Gb Radeon 5700xt, 10Gb LAN,8Tb SSD and nano coating of the screen.

    This is definitely going to workstation price range and I wonder if an Threadripper based one wouldn't be a better choice (condition being you are not locked into using Apple software).

    I think we all know a threadripper based system would be better in many ways and deffo better value for money...
    I've seen a fair few businesses that I know jumping ship recently. Just cannot justify the Apple tax any longer... and going ARM/Apple silicon just pushed them over the edge
