Re: QOTW: Which motherboard chipset are you running?

X570 in a MSI Unify mobo, and no RGB :thumbs up: (the only thing in there with any illumination is a wee bit of RGB on the GPU, a 5700XT Pulse, and the power/temp gauge on the mobo). So far so good, stable barring a curious intermittent glitch with You Tube (website) which looks more like a Windows 10 issue that completely locks the machine.

It has everything I could hope for features wise plus the odd one that I would have happily done without (wi-fi mainly, why? first port of call for anyone using a desktop surely is a hardwired connection). Spec in the sig.

z97i, still holding it's own with a faithful 4690k & a gtx 970. We'll see how well New World goes down, but I just can't fault it for my needs at the mo

Re: QOTW: Which motherboard chipset are you running?

I had a few "upgrades" early this year and strangely the main 3 pc's in use now all run Asus B450 motherboards with either Ryzen 2600 or 2700X in them (as best price at time, both motherboard and cpu's)

Perfectly happy with the outcomes. Motherboards and cpu's all excellent

Re: QOTW: Which motherboard chipset are you running?

Z390 (Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Pro), it does what I want it to perfectly fine although it would be nice to get back to boards that don't have led's to "bling" them up.

Re: QOTW: Which motherboard chipset are you running?

X570... with some subtle RGB - loving having 3x M.2 sockets on tap...two of which are PCI Gen 4 - not a single SATA cable in sight right now. This will keep me happy for a wee while.

My B450 boards don't have too much but do have a 4-pin rgb connector which I have actually tapped into (had some 5050 smt leds spare - honest guv)

Re: QOTW: Which motherboard chipset are you running?

    X570 in an AORUS Master.

Offering plenty of ports including 3 M.2, and PCIe 4.0. But as this was only built earlier this year, there is certainly no need for a chipset upgrade any time soon.

    Primary B450
    Secondary Z77

    Both enough for their uses.
Grab that. Get that. Check it out. Bring that here. Grab anything useful. Take anything good.
