    it is great and all... but not gonna spend 800£ on a motherboard that can only be used with 1 generaton of CPU's being in no way future proof.. or able to be a buffer for long until can do a proper upgrade.

    10 years ago I spent £250 on one of the best available. prices now for some chip sets are insane and the best boards cost more than my build did

    Glad it's not just me, then. Back on 2011 I paid ~£150 for an Asus 990fx board (I think it was a TUF one?). That was considered a 'high-end' motherboard for AM3/AM3+, so asking for 5x more than that for high-end mainstream board today just seems to me to be madness.
