My prediction is these 2 cards are coming out now and they're leaving a gap between so they can see what AMD come out with. If it comes out close to performance or close to power, that'll influence what the 3080Ti looks like.
Either that or they're using this to see if they can release a $1400 card without too much backlash so they can continue screwing us.

From what I've read elsewhere, the 3080 looks to be targeted at around $800 (£800-ish after VAT?).
I think that seems a suitable upgrade from my 4yr old 1080.
There definitely seems to be a 'gap' between the 3080 and the 3090 that 'needs' to be filled....I'm guessing it's the PG132 SKU 20 if we go by their board numbers lol
Pricing is the main issue at the moment though and I really hope they're not going to price the 3090 excessively as that 24GB of memory would be great for my gpu rendering etc.

The TGP looks a bit high on those top end cards. The 3070 looks good though if the performance is indeed matching 2080Ti. Still gonna wait for Big Navi before deciding.
I need to see an on-the-shelf retail rpice as well as performance claims before I'll get excited for new hardware these days
so last time it was miners that was the reason why prices when shocking high even for their best product, what is it now?
Anyone remember when you could get good performance for reasonable coin... uh just when Voodoo II came out back in the day...... comparing prices back then for today even including inflation... uh..
If the 3070 is as fast as the 2080Ti, then we'll see what Big Navi does, what it costs and what actual availability is like, if the pricing is close to what we'll actually see then theres gonna be a lot of pee'd off 2080Ti owners, second hand card prices will fall like a stone, or people simply wont sell them..
At those prices, I think there might be a 3080 under my Xmas tree this year.
