Think I'll be getting a blue watch to replace my Series 3, the addition of o2 and ECG is something I'm keen to get, see what it makes of my HR dropping to 41bpm overnight..
Not sure about the size though, I've got the 42mm S3, so do I look at the 40mm or 44mm for the S6, given the screen is bigger do I actually need the extra 2mm or can I drop 2mm..

The "new" ipad looks very dated with the size of bezels and I can't understand why someone would buy one unless they are already trapped in the Apple eco system and they broke their exisiting device and have no choice.

How do you hold a pad that has no bezels? It isn't like a phone that you can rest in your palm, or a monitor that is on a stand.

I think I'll be popping out to the local Apple Store and picking up one of those new watch straps, they look fancy as!

The rest doesn't interest me at all really. The O2 sensor is a cool feature but I don't use the ECG on my Apple Watch as it is, doubt I'd use the O2 sensor.

Crazy, get one with decent storage capacity and add up the extras needed to turn this into something practical & useful, your looking at the best part of £900!

Thats exactly how i feel about all the streaming services i have looked at, maybe aside for one.

I think maybe flow TV dident ever manage to wash my brain completely out, so now that i have ditched that ( and my TV ) then streaming services, well to me they are just as stupid,,,,,,, and not least just as expensive.

The new ipad air with the A14 is one to watch for benchmarks of as it's likely to be very similar to the apple silicon laptops. 40% more CPU performance on top of a very respectable laptop chip is quite something, and it's not silly pricing (it compares well to a phone, while beating every phone in performance. The cost for the storage is extortionate though). Maybe the rumours are true about apple silicon laptops being much cheaper?

I honestly can't see Apple lowering their prices by a huge amount, if any, as it would essentially 'devalue' their brand. They might stick in a token 'cheap model' that has been neutered with something like a stupidly small ssd in it so nobody will pick it and go for the next one up etc.

Probably much like I'm holding the (even bigger) 12.3" MS Surface Pro I'm currently typing this on (with pen and virtual kb), which is to say, thumb along bottom edge, and using the flat edge of the First finger as a stand.

I'm currently in the market for a tablet/ultra potable type device, and trying to rationalise between competing criteria, such as size, weight, power, application needs and, of course, price .... providing I can rationalise what I want, what I need, and what I'm prepared to pay. So, seeing this announcement piqued my interest.

My first conclusion was "So I get a choice of silver, black or three very naff pastel coloures? So, it's either boring or for girls, then."

C'mon Apple, surely you can do better than that.

Secondly, the floating "magic" keyboard is slick but, given the the standard folio kB is an extra £170-ish, and the pen £120), just how much is the "magic" kB? Though, I note, most high-sigh end and brand name devices do charge an arm and a leg for extras, and those prices are consistent with the MS prices for similar items.

My third conclusion is .... it's not right for me. I was actually looking at iPad Pro, which takes the price up a level or two but even that doesn't actually address everything I want to do with it. Sadly, the harsh reality is that one of the things I want it for is a genealogy package (Legacy 9) that, as far as I know, is Win-only. Even if I could get it running on some kind of emulator, it's not a solution I'm very happy with. Which locks me into a tablet/laptop kind of device running Windows, which pretty much locks me into MS Surface Pro.

So I either have to seriously compromise what I want, with a non-Win solution (like iPad Pro or, more likely, Samsung Tab S7), or bite the bullet for a Surface Pro, kB, pen, docking station, etc.

I suppose at least Apple offer the option of iPad or Pro.

Note - the "tablet" mode is crucial to me, but the proper kb is important too, or I'd already have bought a decent very lightweight laptop, like I flirted with a few months back, for those of you that may remember the thread. It's either a "convertible", or made do with my existing 17" laptop and just get a new tablet, which then won't run Legacy (or in the case of Samsung, Scrivener).

Any which way I kick it about, I end up either spending quite a bit on something distinctly sub-optimal, or rather more than I really want to, on a fairly highly spec'd Surface Pro 7.
