Re: QOTW: How are you coping mentally?

For me the lockdown was a nothing, Ive been medically retired since 2004 and have been sat at home all day every day since then (pretty much !).

For my OH Sally it was a nightmare, she did not cope at all well with lockdown. Now she is back at work as a carer in a residential home for adults with acquired brain injuries and she is as happy as she can be.

(well, as happy as one can be with having lost five residents to CV19 )

Re: QOTW: How are you coping mentally?

I work from home.... so I basically spent most of my time at home already lol

Not being able to go do the 'weekly' shop is the biggest thing I suppose (not picking own fresh stuff mainly) and having ventured into town for the first time due to some appointments (online shopping covered 'shopping')bit sad we've lost a few shops (closures) that I used to frequent, which in turn means even less reason to go into town....

Used to do the odd meal out but tbh, not quite ready to risk that yet (have some family members higher risk). The area I'm in is pretty low risk according to stats (we've followed instructions) but we're also a popular holiday area meaning it could be brought in by 'outsiders'....

I've been no more loopy than usual, I don't work due to mental health problems but, the wife found the time a bit frustrating.

Re: QOTW: How are you coping mentally?

Didn't change much for me but it has been a nightmare for the wifey. Went from busy at work 5 days a week to 2 days and dead (no pun or malice intended)

Plus was not furloughed so we are officially skint now as her income was the more regular one.

But we have managed to watch enough rubbish tv to enable us to never watch any more...

Re: QOTW: How are you coping mentally?

Just as bad as way before corona, i am nurturing a decade old sleeping disorder no one want to help me with. ( thank you danish public healthcare system,,,,,,, end irony )
Otherwise in regard to corona pretty much nothing have changed in my life aside for maybe washing hands a bit more often and use of hand sanitizer when i go shopping.
I have always tried to keep the other 6 million people here at arms length, i dont like my fellow Danes it seem, cuz i dont mind being on a street in Tokyo with like a million people within stone throw distance.

Re: QOTW: How are you coping mentally?

I'm fine , unlike these complete numskulls out there that can't take advice , protest and refuse to wear a mask then attend large gatherings. These idiots deserve to catch this damn virus. I have no problem putting on a mask when shopping etc , no big deal and theres nothing big about refusing to do so. Seeing those pictures of crowded beaches and families with kids , utter madness. I'm self employed and was concerned about earnings due to this and the initial lockdown but have muddled through fortunately. I missed an intended hospital visit over a hearing problem I've been suffering but due to the strain on the health service decided they have more important things to deal with so opted to cancel.
How long this goes on for or if it ever ends I don't know but I'm just keeping calm and getting by the best I can.

No difference. Just as unhealthy as before . I did used to stay in the house all day and the virus has actually let me go out on long walks and keep my distance. I don't feel like it does much good though despite others claiming otherwise.

Re: QOTW: How are you coping mentally?

Baby arrived in Jan, so work at home lockdown has been glorious. Wife feels like she woz robbed (of her maternity leave) but equally has had me to give her a break during what would have been long days alone. Baby cuddles in place of tea break gossip is a fine trade.
Feeling the work isolation a little now, in spite of MS Teams talk all day long. No return to the office until 2021 and then on a home/office mix so working out how to find 20 grand to build an office in the garden...

Re: QOTW: How are you coping mentally?

I was - still am - in the 'shielding' group due to disability. Although shielding officially ended back at the beginning of August, I'm continuing to shield & therefore limit contact with others as far as possible. that said, I live with the support of carers, so there is unavoidable contact there. The stupid thing is, were I living in a care home, carers would be tested regularly with or without symptoms. But because I live in my own home, such testing isn't available. Still, one can't remain stressed-out about these things forever...I just hope for the best & take what precautions I can. I haven't been out of my house (apart from my garden) since March 5th; it's going to feel very strange indeed to venture out again, if & when a viable vaccine becomes available.

I’m better now I’m at work, I wasn’t getting out of bed until midday, binge watching TV and playing lots of Warzone...
Now I’m in Germany for a few more days, home for 5 days then out to Le Mans for 9 days, could do with a few days off now lol

This year has had some challenges that take a bit of getting my head around. Covid? Icing on the challenge cake. Walk in the park. Believe me, there's worse that Covid (unless youdied from it, but if you did, you're probably not reading this).
