It actually makes sense, for pro gamers speed is more important than resolution.And it has a lot of gaming features, that normal monitor doesn't have, not only red lights and "gaming" name.
Only coz companies like this keep making 1080 monitors.

How many pro gamers buy their own kit, rather than getting it supplied by sponsors?
What good is speed, when GPUs are all about the 8K res, nowadays?
