If Ampere comes down at anything like the price/performance nVidia are claiming, I'm not sure it matters when AMD start talking about RDNA2.

If it's an engineering sample, it's possibly not reflective of the final product. Interesting about the 16GB part though, although having read what Nvidia said about memory usage on the Q&A they did on Reddit about the upcoming Ampere, even at 4K the memory usage was only about 6GB in a few scenarios.Quote:

I would have thought having faster memory and a wider bus for throughput would make more of a difference, just throwing more memory at things ends up with poorly optimised coding. AMD have often launched with more memory than Nvidia so I'm not at all surprised at a 16GB part. What makes you think it's NAVI 22 or 23 though Cat? I thought it was pretty much read that 21 will launch first by quite a way. Is it just the number of ram chips (8) hence 256bit bus?
