it is for consumers. But Nvidia showed people are willing to pay obscene amounts so others will naturally follow suit. Crazy IMO but we are where we are. AMD after all are a business not a charity, and we have for years been saying imagine what they could do if they had more resources. Well you don't get those by giving it all away for free. Sucks for us end consumers though. prices are just becoming crazy.

I think I want to wait for :-

    - results of independent reviews and tests, and

    - pricing, and

    - availability, after the early-adopter rush slows down

.... before I start thinking about it at all. It's too soon to tell, and this stuff is currently all about marketing battles.

Nope. Big Navi is like Big Pharma but in the world of maps and GPSes... which in the UK is the Ordnance Survey, Google Maps, TomTom and Garmin. Not sure what that's got to do with GPUs, although they do keep talking about 'roadmaps' in their lead-up to product releases.

However, my mate says Big Navi is also the fat Indian guy who runs the convenience shop down the road.

Considering the irrelevant post wasn't it obvious? Why start talking about maps in an AMD GPU thread?

No need to apologise. If you don't get the joke, just let it whoosh over your head and stop worrying about it...

Hoped for something slightly above 3080, but still its a decent result for AMD.
I wonder what's the real and DXR performance.

Even so, if the price is set lover it will be good enough to make Nvidia think twice... hopefully.
