Re: QOTW: How much memory is inside your PC?
My two primary computers, desktop and laptop, each have 32 GB of DDR4 RAM. 16 GB would probably be enough, but RAM is currently cheap enough that there is little reason not to do a bit of future-proofing and go for 32.
The laptop is an after-purchase upgrade from 12 GB, a configuration that didn't enable dual channel memory. As it only has two SODIMM slots that's its practical limit; going to 64 GB would be a LOT more expensive and might not even work. (The system's official ceiling is 16 GB, but 8 GB SODIMMs were the largest available when it was built.) The desktop is a new build in early 2020; that one has four slots, so going with a pair of 16 GB DIMMs immediately allows for a later upgrade to 64 or 96 GB for its second life as a server once I have moved on to a newer primary desktop.
Re: QOTW: How much memory is inside your PC?
I have 64GB of RAM installed on both of my desktops; the laptop has 16GB.
Re: QOTW: How much memory is inside your PC?
32GB (4x8GB). I went with RGB RAM and couldn't stand seeing empty slots.
Re: QOTW: How much memory is inside your PC?
32GB Last December there was a special on a pair of 16GB DDR4 3200 sticks for under $100. So I grabbed them, as it never hurts to have more RAM. May grab two more if I see a good price to have all the memory channels working.

Re: QOTW: How much memory is inside your PC?
16Gb It's enough to do what I do, which is run a Treasury Management system over SQL Server, while using MS Office and Chrome. When this PC becomes too old I will probably upgrade to 32Gb. I also run 4 laptops with a range from 8Gb to 32Gb, mand they are all OK for what I do with them, which is not gaming.

Re: QOTW: How much memory is inside your PC?
I just put together another set-up and it has 32 GB of DDR4 @ 3200 with my 3800X CPU
My 'retired' comp is an X99 and it has 32GB of DDR4 but it is @ 2400 as I was in first and the mobo's were funny with anything over 2400MHz until they got the BIOS's sorted, so I left it like that, I don't see the need to go crazy with RAM speed; but that is me
Re: QOTW: How much memory is inside your PC?
32TH and it seems sufficient for mainly gaming, no memory intensive needs
Re: QOTW: How much memory is inside your PC?
I use still DDR3 1600mhz, but 32GB. This will let my computer smooth work with render my pictures, together with a RTX2060 super videocart. I aways say: "Look what you want to do with your computer"
Re: QOTW: How much memory is inside your PC?
16GB 3200C14, probably going for another 16GB once Zen3 is out.
Re: QOTW: How much memory is inside your PC?
Recently I switched from 8 to 16 GB and I understand that 32 would be just a lot for me.
Re: QOTW: How much memory is inside your PC?
My two main PCs have 32GB, which is probably more than I need, one of them a new build 3900X is running 32GB at 3800Mhz (3600 over clocked)
My server has 12GB, but can only use 8GB which is a restriction of WHS2011, but I need to get around to changing the OS.
Most the other PCs and two laptops have 8GB, or possibly just 4GB
Re: QOTW: How much memory is inside your PC?
I have 16 GB. It seems plenty for Thunderbird, 2 browsers w/ multiple tabs open, and torrenting. All at the same time.
Re: QOTW: How much memory is inside your PC?
16GB DDR3
The plan is to upgrade soon, as this machine is rather old now. It was built with 4GB in 2011, then had another two sticks added to bring it up to 8GB in 2012, and then last year had the RAM replaced with a 16GB set.
Next machine will most likely have 32GB, simply because RAM is pretty cheap right now and 32GB will have me set for the next decade.
Re: QOTW: How much memory is inside your PC?
16gb but then again its enough for what i use my pc for
