Think thats about it
Post lockdown?? We're back in it :'(
Our office eventually reopened despite the building we're in never closing. I'm in most days, mental health issues are real and this has helped no end. There are usually 3-4 people in a space designed for over 100 so the measures in place re spacing, distancing, hand washing etc work well as we're all sensible adults.
No real need for investment as the area I work in was already happening.
My other half works in retail and was made redundant mid-Aug, found another job and is now hoping the same doesn't happen again. Being they've targeted December 2nd, at least this time there might be an end in sight. Plus we're buying a house and are due to exchange at the end of the month
My work really doesn't like home working for some reason I cannot determine (which is odd when we make software that helps with home working!) so tried to pull us all back in before Boris said it was ok. It was horrid. Plastic screening round the desks, a new desk right next to a door no one was supposed to use but everyone did to save going outside to get to the loo! After the latest work from home order we're back working from home which I prefer.
Tech wise the upgrade has been going from crappy bargain basement monitor, K/M to my mid end home kit. I don't really want to go back the office.
I have been back in twice during the lock down and was glad to get out. 5 people in an office for 100+ isn't nice.
A lesson learned from PeterB about dignity in adversity, so Peter, In Memorium, "Onwards and Upwards".
