I'm getting pretty fed up with re-masters, just seems lazy versus coming up with new and better games. Yes there are some really old classic games I'd like to see re-mastered, but not for games that I'd consider relatively modern.

You're very right. They choose these games as there's much less work to do, just like making skins and modern dlc, low effort and big pay.

Granted they've remastered C&C not too long ago, but it's the least they could do after killing the franchise and the developers.

I get bored of re-masters but at the same time I enjoy them. Sometimes when you go back to a great game for nostalgias sake you boot it up and your rose tinted glasses crack because wow, it looks terrible.

One of the worst ones for me was I loved the Legacy of Kain series as a kid, but you go back to playing them now and it's just...difficult is the best word I can muster.

I can't wait to play through the remaster of at least ME1, ME2 and 3 can still stand up against current gen but we'll see!

Wish someone would remake Syndicate for the modern era. It has so much potential to be amazing on current hardware. Sadly the original, whilst absolutely amazing in its day, just doesn't hold up today on emulator but could be superb if remade well.

Wasn't that remade just a little while ago?

    Edit : Well 2012!

Bioware are incapable of making good games anymore.

The culture that produced Mass Effect is dead.

Well, the suggestion is that they are coming up with a new ME game, hence remastering these in the meantime to stir up some interest.
TBH, ME1 was looking a bit old, and ME2 could certainly do with some bug fixes.

I suppose this will also be remastered when 8K becomes the norm. What a way to milk players, although for those that missed it the first time around this has some value I guess.

I think it's fair enough - making old work stably on new systems is development work, so deserves being paid for. If you don't like it you can pick up the originals still and play them either on the systems they were designed for or take your luck on modern ones.

And if you don't want to do either, you can wait for the new game they're working on instead.

O i would be over the top over a remaster, but mind you remaster of old games i played / liked.
I would like to see Soldier of fortune 2 with better graphics - a map generator that could generate random indoor maps - maybe ability to blow your way thru stuff.
I am also planning to get the Red Alert refresh as i spent many many hours playing that online.

They can relatively easily make these games look a lot better, that's worth it.

Me too, I totally agree. I haven't even got around to playing the original Mass Effect games yet, let alone the upcoming remasters. What a waste of money and I bet there won't be any discounts for those who bought the original games. It's nothing more than greed. Sign of the times!
