I hope people are aware of the dewpoint issue, with more extreme forms of cooling.

I am going to spend those 200W at something sensible instead.
From what i gather it comes with a built in humidity/ambient temperature sensor so automatically adjusts to prevent condensation, it's also using a variable voltage so you don't get the on/off situation of massive power draw all the time or heat soaking back towards the cold side.

It's a pretty 'smart' bit of kit TBH, the der8auer video in the article takes a more technically focused look at it, well worth the watch IMO.

Yeah.... I have one of those.
I'm only drawing about 200w from the wall at idle and maybe 400 during heavy gaming, but it was only a few quid more than the 750-800w ones, and actually cheaper than some of them at the time.
I wanted to go toward the higher end to allow for future expansion... and kit like this pleases me!!

I can recall looking at a Lian Li case with something like this in years ago. Then reading into it a bit more the condensation definitely put me off, alongside the extra power required. Even if they've resolved the condensation part, that power draw definitely doesn't seem worthwhile.

Anything that chills well below zero will need some care, but I would imagine modern cpus would respond rather well to such temperatures.

der8auer did an interesting follow up video, he jerry rigged the Intel Cryo cooler onto a Ryzen 5950X.
