Gaming division aka cash cow division

In our supply chain, stronger demand globally has limited the availability of capacity and components.
So they didn't book enough capacity with Samsung, either that or the yields on the 8nm are atrocious, hence the rumoured switch to TSMC 7nm next year.

AMD aren't exactly smashing supply on TSMC 7nm either.

To be a little bit fairer to AMD though, they're juggling Xbox, PS5, Ryzen, Threadripper, EPYC, Radeon supply (etc.). Guess it depends on how they allocated that supply. Nvidia? Hmmm, not quite comparable, even though they do more than just gaming graphics cards. There is more to this than they're saying.

They're not exactly known for transparency, but as long as their stock and profits are high nobody seems to care.
As for TSMC wafer capacity: Sony and Microsoft must have pretty good contracts as at this stage with so high demand just about everything AMD makes has a higher far margin than the console.

That's primarily down to analyst ratings and price targets, which will generally price in the short term supply issues. Nvidia will have to sort out the constrained supply at some point.

Nvidia for GPU , AMD for CPU. That's my opinion .
