RIP Codemasters. All your future titles will be confined to a microtransaction, loot box driven hell.
Indeed, can't see this being good for the future of Codemasters, well guess money talks
NFS : F1 Hot pursuit is on its way then.
Both companies have an itch for micro transactions so it was going to be bad either way, but EA are more likely to kill off the studio completely, sad really, been playing their games since Dizzy the egg.
This is bad
Bad for gamers, bad for codemasters.
Good for their share price tho, jumped 30% this morning. This leaves me very conflicted!
I keep wondering whether EA might themselves be bought up by Microsoft... would give MS more exclusives and even more titles to cycle through the GamePass library.
EA have been a bit better of late. C&C remaster and SW: Squadrons are two good examples of good games with no microtransactions. I hope this is due to a change of personnel at the top - like how Microsoft changed massively once Barmer switched for Satya Nadella. It might then stick?
(Just hoping this means more titles on Game pass via EA play as a by product)
Code masters didn't really stand a choice either way. Despite how bad Take Two are, I'd still say EA are worse in all regards.
Oh no, I liked Codemasters. oh well, they were a good dev... DLC everything I guess. It's sad to see them get bought out. Also anyone remember when Activision bought Bizarre Creations, or EA with Pandemic & Westwood Studios...
Well we can but hop it all doesn't go down the pan. I guess this includes slightly mad studios and the project cars franchise.
Well at lease we could get the codemasters games on EA play/Game Pass now.
Well that's the end of Codemasters.
