Magnificent screen and resolution. I'd love this if it had a higher Hz, gsync, etc etc.

Sounds like the U4021QW is just a larger version of the LG 34WK95U (5K2K) screen with a lower dpi due to bigger screen and a curve added....something most designers I know don't actually like due to the way it can make straight lines appear bent etc.

As above I would love to see (ideally at the 34inch size of the LG)a screen with at least 75HZ refresh and gsync/freesync (I'm ok with gsync due to nvidia gpu but I prefer non proprietary)

Weird product. Seems to have a lot of stuff that no one wants - curved 40" screen (I'd have thought flat is better for workflow?), lower PPI, no HDMI 2.1 / gaming features?
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

It's made by Dell, which is a business brand first & foremost.
They've been moving their gamer stuffs to their Alienware brand.

Not using HDMI 2.1 was pretty stupid though, at that resolution HDMI 2.0 doesn't have enough bandwidth for 60hz hence the 30hz limit we see

This seems pretty cool overall but skimped in enough areas to become not so appealling. I'll wait for other more feature complete monitors with this panel to appear on the market, preferably at more reasonable prices

Re: Dell announces the UltraSharp 40 Curved WUHD Monitor (U4021QW)

I personally wont touch a letterbox monitor, the perfect monitor for me would be:
    55" - 5120 x 2160 - SRGB: 100%
    IPS/QLED Panel - Curved: Maybe
    Width:132cm - Height:48cm
    4ms response time...
Its got to be as tall as a 38" to 40" standard monitor.

This one has missed the target imo, they'll need to recalculate what the priorities of its audience are and design a better product for the next iteration.

I expect the same panel will start popping up via other manufacturers, hopefully with a more complete feature set.
