Is this like the widgets? Honestly, I don't care for this feature, my OS is not where I go to get my news! I also hope it can be turned off, I paid for my OS, don't need bloat and ads! I'm not convinced by "...fully respects your privacy..."

i will pass too.
Absolute shower.
not a fan...
This from Microsoft, "And if news and interests doesn’t appeal to you, you can easily turn it off by right-clicking on the taskbar."
Microsoft adds features - "We don't want them!"
Microsoft doesn't add features - "Microsoft is old. They never change. They never add anything new!"
I just want a streamlined OS without all these new 'features'.... if I want the news from the internet I'll just fire up a browser and search for 'news'...
Also I want to disable it fully, not just 'hide it from taskbar' which implies it's still going to be active in the background...
Even though MS says they respect privacy they still haven't given us a 'one click' I don't want to be followed button, we have to jump through multiple hoops... edge for advertising etc, dashboard for other things, individual apps for other things... MS just give me a system wide 'privacy' button.
More useless bloat. Why can't they give us an update that spares us from all this poorly coded, unoptimized crap?
No thanks, didn't ask for this.
Don't remember seeing any complaints about the addition of SSH or any of the other features that are i) genuinely useful. ii) are installed optionally. It's the ramming down one's throat of features that monetize the desktop for Microsoft's benefit that people complain about.
This is a feature Android (and I assume iOS) already has. This is just the usual keeping up with the jones feature creep, the same as every other product. I do appreciate it on my phone but of less interest on my PC. As long as I can turn it off if its of no use I don't see the big deal.
That's will be getting turned off right away.
More crap to unpin from the taskbar on a fresh installation.
Sigh
