Re: Thermaltake releases L-shaped height adjust RGB gaming desk

Haha, the link to the power pose article made me laugh. Cameron was the only one that actually managed to pull it off though, for the others it was clearly something they’d been told to do and not something they could actually do (stance far too wide), looked somewhat comical.

As for the desk... seems like something that should have been considered in design no? What’s there reason for making it a few centimetres too short?

Re: Thermaltake releases L-shaped height adjust RGB gaming desk

there are some tasks where you want higher than 1.2m - and I'm not even 6ft. 750-800cm is an average sitting desk height, and 1.0-1.1m is general standing working height but for detailed drawing, complicated overlaying, fine work, fiddly assembly etc raising the desk higher can help

I'm wondering if I knocked up something similar with some car window motors, what fraction of TT's asking price I could get it down to...

Oh wow. I'd missed the price. That's obscene! You can get kits of riser legs off certain websites for a couple of hundred pounds. A decent sheet of ply or two and some varnish/oil is only a hundred or so all in (and with a good amount of ply to spare). Mousemat material can be sourced in rolls and costs peanuts. As for LED trim, who cares? What a rip off!

I'm not sure but clearly adding on rgb is going to add on at least £1000 lol

Re: Thermaltake releases L-shaped height adjust RGB gaming desk

I ordered one of these yesterday for £250 delivered: https://flexispot.co.uk/2-stage-heig...frame-ed2.html
Along with a 2m x 62cm x 22mm oak worktop for £115 (plus £25 delivery) [zOMG, but that's bigger than the base claims to support!?!]

Both arrive tomorrow. Based on the price differential between what I've ordered and what Thermaltake are offering, I don't think I'll be cancelling my orders...
I do have money left over to buy some of what Thermaltake are smoking though

Edit: Granted, I'll only have a mouse mat where my mouse is, rather than everywhere. More fool me!

Google these desks and you will get a shed load of hits for way less that that stupid price. I myself have just got a set of legs (single run but still) of Amazon for £300 with the bespoke top from recycled timber ,looks awesome for another £200.

This does seem like a standard desk with RGB? Kinda cool but I can't see any justification for that price :/

Re: Thermaltake releases L-shaped height adjust RGB gaming desk

That price is pretty extortionate. Also 110cm does seem like Id be tilting my head down a bit unless my monitor was on a tall arm. It might feel premium especially in movement but that's justification for 800, not double that.

Indeed. Although there are far more expensive height adjustable desks out there that would make most of us cringe even more. Those legs on the TT one look pretty weak though.

No, pricing is accurate, adding those mega expensive LED strips makes it a height adjustable "gaming" desk, thus justifying the price.
