This disgusts me, this is a bloody Midrange card going for more than what the Top Tier used to go for.
Makes you wonder if the Shortage of supply isn't a manufactured shortage ...

Re: Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 12GB release date confirmed

Cheapest 3060 at proshop is 550 USD or so, ( Inno3D GeForce RTX 3060 Twin X2 OC )
But a few of them do have a place holder price of 16.300 USD attached.
Most expensive listed ( true price ) is the ASUS GeForce RTX 3060 ROG STRIX OC with a price of 750 USD.

i think 500 USD or so is also what i paid for my 5700XT, and really i can not justify going higher than that for a GFX card

I have said it before and i will say it again, i am happy i am not in the market for new hardware ATM.

Whatever are you suggesting good sir? That NVidia might be trying to vamp the prices because they set RRP too low out of worry of AMD's offering sir? Is that what you're saying sir? But because AMD cannot supply quickly enough Nvidia are throttling supply to get more revenue sir? Is that what you're saying sir? That would be naughty now wouldn't it sir? Oh. Suits you sir. Suits you...

    Here we need EU

Though the fines they dish out left and right, i have no idea where the money end.
Wouldn't it be possible to make BIOS that would not run coin-making software ? That would be so nice.
The two companies would do well remembering who created them in the first place ( gamers )

Are you suggesting that graphics cards go back to being for 3d professionals and should be locked out to prevent them being used for gaming (Though yes, we did play Doom on the SGI machines...)

Isn't that around the same price 2070's were? The 30's series being the more performance for less money cards they were touted as at launch seems like a con to drive up demand with the advantage of hind site.

why? A 3070 is approx 2080ti performance in a lot of cases. Even a high-end one at the moment is £700. Are you honestly saying that if you could have got a new, with warranty, 2080ti for £700 in July 2020 you'd have said that was a bad deal?

I get your point but I don't think that comparison should be made as they are different classes of card, and the 20 series, in particular the 2080ti were priced horribly.

Re the 3060, I'm not sure who would want to buy one over a 3060ti given the AIB pricing...!

Well nvidia are still saying from 299.00 for the 3060 series (so I'll assume that's the 3060 12gb and there isn't a secret 6gb or something)...

Bigger issue isn't so much the price (I hope), it's if there is enough stock to supply anyone who wants one and if companies don't go and price gouge 'desperate' consumers trying to buy 'important' bits of their pc.

They may well have been horrible pricing for the 2xxx series cards, but their resale value if you manage to get a 3xxx card has made them pretty cheap overall. Seems like the 12GB 3060 pricing by AIB partners is fairly horrible for that extra bit of GDDR.

Does VRAM make a big difference to mining? does it make a 3060 better than a 3060ti even though it's a slower card? Don't really know how it works!

If they want to buy up all the 3060s and let the gamers have the 3060ti's i'd be okay with that!
