Been trying to Grab a 3080 since launch after scan cancelled my order on launch day for no reason, and still won't give me a reeason. Picked up a 3070 a couple weeks ago, so it should hold me over till i am able to re-order the 3080.

Nope, no stock of any of the key items I need at any UK retailer. Wont touch Ebay, not at those prices (never mind the grey area of warranty due to not being the original purchaser of the card).
It doesnt look like things are going to get any better any time soon, the AMD UK store states they are unable to ship to the UK at the moment https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/amdonlinestorefaq#faq-Shipping-Information ; It is literally one of the only places that lists items at MRP.
I will sit back for the moment and if it continues this way, I will skip this upgrade cycle.
No, built my daughter a PC for her school work and gaming. Only missing one part and no guessing what that is !!!
Very annoying were in this position... Hopefully it won't belong and the market will be flooded.
Yes, have been fortunate to pick up a Ryzen 5800X and a 3080FE in the last few months. I do hope this crazy situation resolves itself in the near future though.
Seen just about every part I've wanted or needed, except for 5900x at a good price.
the IT guys at my work advised ignoring the component market till H2 2021 due to pricing and scarcity, but I was intent on replacing my 10 year old X58 system.
Accumulated all my components over December/January and didn't pay through the roof, plenty of periodic offers, discount codes etc were about. Maxed cashback deals etc and managed to build a rig for no more outlay than any normal time.
Pretty much only need to upgrade GPU. I did try to get a 3070 on release and missed out. I haven't really had the motivation to try and find stock and aren't even sure what card would be most appropriate. Currently on a 970, but tbh I got into Genshin Impact so it isn't exactly demanding on hardware.
I'm Looking at upgrading to a newer graphics card in the next few months. Looking around scan's web site,
there aren't even prices listed for the nVidia 30x0 cards.. so no idea what they'd cost. Looking at presumably cheaper mid range cards - nothing listed. Only the low end cards have prices (but aren't in stock). looks like the only ones available are extreme low end ones at the moment.
Pricing a new build system to put a new card in is looking expensive for the specs I'd like - so for now
I've gone for a fairly cheap refurbished xeon workstation, which is still a nice step up from my ancient core 2 quad system (x2 cores, x4 threads, x4 memory) and should do OK for a few years while I save up for a new build.
Fortunately it looks as though as you can still get HDDs and SDDs. So I can gradually add those to the workstation with the possibility of eventually moving them across to a new build .
Nope miners bought everything and even the second hand market is now nutts for old mid range cards, bought a gtx 970 in dec for £80 in cash converters (1 years guarantee, cheap and a no brainer)... these are now selling on ebay at like 140!)
The world has gone nuts
Only wanted to do one upgrade to my Z68 system in 2020, and that was doubling the RAM. That was pretty easy since there wasn't a RAM shortage.
It still hasn't really gotten to the point where I feel a compulsion to upgrade, which is good right now. Though the current chaos is an impetus to make the jump the next time prices are low.
I picked up a 3600 system back during the first look down and looking at prices I wouldn't have saved anything waiting! Didn't replace my GPU (an Rx480) as budget was too tight and with the 6000 series Radeon's round the corner figured I'd wait. Guess I'll be waiting some more for that upgrade.
I was lucky to find a stop gap though - An xbox series X on launch day. Only started looking a week before release too and struck gold on Microsoft's website. Been very happy with that purchase (game pass is great).
Almost, PSU shortages meant I didn't get the Seasonic unit I was after, but the Corsair I ended up with is fine so far. Also wanted an Arctic AIO but due to a, probably covid-related, delay in supply I went for the Fractal AIO instead, which works fine and looks nicer.
Everything else was exactly what I was after, and didn't feed a single scalper
3770k 16gb 1600mhz p8z77m-pro >>> 5800x 32gb 3600mhz Asus Strix B550-e Gaming, 2x m.2 500gb drives, Cooler Master 750w Gold PSU, 6 new fans.
Couldn't get a new graphics card (not paying them prices to scalpers) so water called my Rx 580 8gb with a NZXT G12 + H55 (already had it), the system is near silent now! and the 580 runs faster! so I've not done too bad
Edit: and a new monitor EG 1440p 27" adaptive sync. So yeah I guess I've done well!

Managed to get a Strix OC 3090, 5950X and a 3090FE all at rrp. It was hard though. I really wanted a 6800XT and a 6900XT but the prices are ludicrous.
Nope (( Still looking for a 3070 and a Mini ITX case. Can't get an NR200P off Amazon for the life of me
Good:
Bought a new external bluray writer without any trouble at all
Bad:
Order for a new custom PC is pending availability of an affordable Socket 1200 motherboard
Ugly:
No sign of newer model AMD APUs being on sale for upgrading my HTPC
