No thanks, price is too high, software support is too low, 18gb of ram seems pointless. It looks quite nice in white though.
I never expect perfection, so this is amazing from ASUS. This should have been just two models though. Hoping expandable storage and better cameras will make a comeback like the headphone port, fantastic u-turn there!
I'm not normally a fan of ROG styling, but the Ultimate in white does actually look really good.
I'm pretty much sold on the customisable rear colour PMOLED screen, partly because I love gimmicky junk like that, but also because it's actually very useful this time.
My favourite phone ever was a Samsung SGH-Z500 which had a small external screen, and that was unbelievably useful!
Along similar lines, the themes could be great, if teh phone can sustain animated wallpapers and things.
Not sure I'd like the touch-sensor controls so much, as those things have never worked well for me.
Quite a bit I like about the phone, really... But as with many such things, it's pure pipe dream stuff and way above what I'd ever pay for such things. Knock a zero off the back end and I'd consider it.

Dual 3000mah batteries sounds interesting, is that a thing in phones now? I've not really been following them.
Way past what i would pay for a electronic pocket turd.
Dual batteries are due to the SOC sit right in the middle for thermal reasons, so the battery had to be split in tow on either side of it.
Nice stuff and all, but not worth it for me, if it is for you,,,,, you should seek professional help
No a gaming addiction it will not take care off, but a social media addiction it might be able to handle, pictures of cupcakes and other stupid stuff dont gobble up as much power.
I think the reasoning was to be able to fit a better cooling solution so you dont get throttling under load, and also if you are gaming it ( i assume ) could be annoying having 1 hand go blistering hot while the other are cool.
It do sound like if you are a phone gamer, then this is as good as it get.
Personally i do not understand why anyone would ever game on any little handheld devise, when there are so much better solutions, i can only assume it is pure addiction reasons which are pretty sad.
If i got into gaming again, i think one of the first things i would have to do is to go to a larger screen than my 27" one.
I EDC a Nintendo Gameboy Advance SP, as it fits in my top slingpack pocket. It takes nothing to carry, but I have a flash cart with hundreds of games and about 6 hours of battery available if ever I find myself having to kill some time... and more, if there's a USB charging socket handy.
I have a DS Lite, but it's a touch too large for pocketability yet so small (or just badly designed) that it hurts my hands to use. I haven't gotten a 3DS XL yet, and I don't think you can get a flash cart for those.
I cannot safely carry a Switch or similar and I can't afford a GPD WIN. Gaming laptops are too big and kinda suck.
So if you have a better and affordable solution with massively high portability, desktop level performance, long battery life and all the other features, I'm all ears...

I do not believe in the concept of being bored, and so the idea of needing to kill time are also hard for me to deal with.
You know your head and hands do not have to do something all the time.
And how do you suggest I carry all this around with me?
Come do my job, where there can often be a situation where you're stuck waiting around and have absolutely nothing else to do, for an indeterminate period of time. Occasionally we've been sat there all day waiting for paperwork, plant, people, materials, customers or something else.
Doing nothing is even more boring and a complete waste of my time. If I'm just sat there I end up thinking of all the things I want to do or could be getting on with, if not coming up with new ones.
A phone lets me research such things, do the food shopping, plan meals, read books, learn new skills or practice some existing ones, pay bills, arrange meetings and all sorts... but sometimes I'm just in the mood to play games or watch a film, for however long it takes for the situation to resolve.
