I have an i7-6900K with 8 cores / 16 threads
The wife has an i9-7940X with 14 cores / 28 threads
i7 9700k so 8 cores 8 threads
@Hexus if you make this a poll we can see the distribution
12 proper full-fat cores, 24 threads.

As mine is the Ryzen 9 3950X, that would be the aforementioned astonishing 16 Cores (and 32 Threads).
8 Cores. I'll wait for DDR5 for my next upgrade.
6 Core 12 Threads, recently upgraded from 2 cores 2 threads. A nice improvement to say the least.
