Zen 2 is plenty fast enough for a laptop.

It'd make me think twice as when I pay for an expensive laptop, I keep it for a decade. An extra few percent IPC can make a big different to the EOL time when you're at the extremes.

Yeah, now you don't quite know what you're getting and Apple can release stuff at their own rate and not have to worry about Intel moving on and them being behind Intel's release curve...

Let's see how competitive AMD model pricing is to Intel now. Going by desktop processors, perhaps Intel models would be cheaper for low and mid end, with AMD commanding a premium for top-end specs perhaps?
