Mine is bog standerd 1080p
I wouldn't want higher on a 15" screen.
It's 7 years old now, but I don't see any need to upgrade in the forseable future.
It's funny, I've never brought one in about 41 years of owning computers (my 1st was an Atari 400)! I've never wanted one either to be honest. I've used a few for work, from massive ruggedised models, to later sleek office jobs. I've also repaired a few too. As to resolution, I can't help, as don't own one.
1920 x 1080 - There is no reason to have anything different on a laptop with a smaller screen.
1920x1080, older laptop with an A10-9600p still does everything needed.
1366x768, 10.1 netbook with C50 (still used).
1080p here but I have little use for a laptop
Old puter - still good enuff till I save some pennies!
1080p
It's an older ASUS GL703GS SCAR with a VA 17" 1080p 144Hz Gsync display. It doesn't get used much, but I did upgrade it to 32GB RAM and a 1TB NVME / 4TB SATA SSD.
Full HD, though it's faulty so I watch through the TV or (in theory) the projector.

Be Careful on the Internet! I ran and tackled a drive by mining attack today. It's not designed to do anything than provide fake texts (say!)
I've never owned a laptop, having always preferred a desktop but, the last time I had a work laptop, the screen was SVGA 800x600. It was a long time ago...
The laptop I'm browsing this on is 1680x1050, 15.4" screen. I find it to be a very pleasant resolution for the screen size, and there's very nearly as much vertical resolution as 1080p. On sites like Hexus where the layout doesn't go all the way across anyway, it's virtually the same.
I also have a newer, 15.6" laptop that's bog-standard 1080p. Also quite acceptable. I see no reason to go higher in a laptop where I won't notice the detail, and the battery life will be worse due to driving all those pixels.
Finally, I also have an older IBM laptop that has an 800x600 SVGA screen. Screen technology has improved a bit since then, but it has outlasted the original screen on the laptop I'm typing this on.
2736 x 1824 on a Surface Pro 7 - lovely sharp display with great brightness & contrast.
What google algorithm are these weekly questions from.
Personal laptop - 1920 x 1080
Work laptop - 1366 x 768
