I can't say I've ever tried a monitor with a refresh rate of over 144hz. I even started thinking that was high, that 100-120 would probably be enough for most people outside e-sports in certain games.
Anyone have experience of these high refresh rate monitors, over 144 hz?

Be Careful on the Internet! I ran and tackled a drive by mining attack today. It's not designed to do anything than provide fake texts (say!)

I can oc my monitor from 144 to 165, cant tell the difference, maybe my 3060Ti just doesn't care enough and G-Sync just does its thing..

Been using 240hz for a while. In the few games that even support that, you will most likely not notice a difference compared to 120hz. Having the hardware to get fps to that level is also an issue. I would call anything beyond 144hz snake oil for "pro gamers". But if it makes people happy, go for it.
But then again the human eye can't see more than 24 fps anyway, right?
Don't think anyone knows for sure scientifically but its thought you don't visually perceive a difference after 75-90 fps however there is a non perceived where you react well beyond so your brain registers the movement at a deep level beyond what your visual view processes so 240 390 may unknown to yourself be registered in a reactionary way but there does not seem any hard facts on the matter.
390HZ! BAHAHAHAHA!
This is taking the mickey. You can't even get mainstream GPUs to run games at 60HZ with no RT on like a GTX1650,GTX1660,etc because AMD and Nvidia have prioritised the more expensive new generation GPUs(and miners),and now we have these MEGAHERTZ monitors. Then we have stuff like the RTX3060 which is barely faster than the previous generation,so even if stuff was available at RRP,you would still need an overpriced graphics card.
How many are praying their already old GPU does not go kaput, because they can't buy a new GPU unless they pay well over the odds, and even old tat GPUs are going for stupid prices secondhand.
It's honestly like some sick joke.

They have there uses, we have a couple of 360 Hz screens at work that we just got. I'm sure they would have gone for these had they been out at the time. This is not for gaming though but it is useful that the march for high frame rate monitors is benefiting research stuff. Roll on the 1 kHz monitors
At some point it'd be really nice to move away from a model designed for CRTs - just change the pixels that need changing rather than buffering a full screen each frame.

Given the choice between a 4.4ms gain over a 144hz display I'd prefer a bigger display.
