Probably because DDR4 is designed for low latency throughput and GDDR6 is designed for higher bandwidth to support the amount of data required for multi-parallelism (such as in graphics, but not limited to).

Maybe GDDR6 is better suited to multi threaded applications due to the way it's designed, especially if latency isn't an issue? Certainly interesting.

For £500 this would be quite performant ... Just bought a x300 deksmini which will cost less , but without Gfx card . I like the case, but shorter, black PSU cables essential??
