I hope to get another 10 years out of it.

Re: QOTW: Which power supply is in your main PC?

I wanted a Seasonic initially but, as with Jace007, the one I wanted wasn't estimated to be back in stock until December this year.

I turned to Corsair and the RM750x, largely down to the way Corsair have handled warranty returns on the RAM that went belly up in my old system (painless with no quibbles and quick). On reflection I probably should have gone a wee bit higher in the power levels judging by the way modern GPU's seem to be hoovering up power.

Re: QOTW: Which power supply is in your main PC?

From what I read they get a lot of stick recently but I use EVGA (Supernova 80+ Gold), and with my other system Corsair ofc. I am surprised by some newer budget PSUs (40-75 price range) using the plastic covered wires instead of the braided wires.

Re: QOTW: Which power supply is in your main PC?

A top of the range Enermax. I can't even remember what power it is (550/650W)??. Anyway it's I think the 3rd Enermax I have had since I started building PC's in the mid 90's and is probably 12-15 years old. Worth evey penny, the first one was double the price of some of the others I looked at. I'd probably still have it, but it would only have been 300ish watts. The one I'm using now has done at least 3 upgrades.

    Corsair HXi 1200W.

Pros - it powers my RTX 3090 happily.
Cons - it uses a lot of power.

Re: QOTW: Which power supply is in your main PC?

ITX build so ended up grabbing an EVGA SuperNOVA 650 GM.

Best bit is, it should have been £80 good as new on Facebook Marketplace, but the guy selling it found out I was in the NHS and (after much arguing to not be silly from my part) sold me it for £30!

Bargain of the century SFF PSU, from a properly good Samaritan.
