Any pros and cons to report?
It's a Seasonic Focus GX 750W Power Supply, Full Modular, 80 Plus Gold.
I've had it about a year with no problems. It's my third Seasonic PSU. The one in my previous PC failed after 4 years, but they shipped me a warranty replacement really quickly and with no fuss.
My Ryzen 3 desktop (2200G) uses a PicoPSU. The PicoPSU is feed from a 20v/90W charger from an old laptop - which is voltage-downstepped to 12v ==> PicoPSU.
Uses 18 watt idle, 1.2 watt sleep - and up to 80 watt when playing games:WOT/GTA V - all measured at the plug / the wall.
PicoPSU=10 Euro. Voltage stepdown=5 Euro. Old 20V block/brick/charger was scrap anyhow.
The PC is totally silent !!
EVGA 750w Super Nova G2
EVGA 1000w Supernova G2.
Had it for ages and used in three builds, works awesome, does stuff, love it.
A bit more than I thought I'd ever need, but latest gen GPU power req's s suggest it might have been a fantastic investment after all!
An 80Plus Gold 650W EVGA, forgotten what model it is. It just works and keeps quiet about it, just as it should.
650w fully modular Corsair other than that I can't remember without pulling the side off to have a look.
Seasonic Prime Ultra Titanium 850W. Had it about a year to replace a 10 year old Corsair. No problems to report on the new PSU. Worth paying that little bit extra (though it was bought in a sale) for PSU with a 12 year warranty and a top notch reputation. Buy once, buy right.
Well aside for a chieftec PSU blowing up on me,,,,, dunno why i was so nice to it, even chrome plated it along with the rest of the then steel chassis , well i never had PSU problems.
My last two have been corsair and i am currently on the RM850 i
Before these i did a few of the German Be quit power supplies, i still have one of them in a old emergency PC.
I have been on board with modular PSU's since day #1, actually a regular PSU i did mod their wires so at least to wire length and plug placement,,,,,, and color, they was tailor made.
Needless to say when SATA came around i ditched those IDE drives like they was hot, cuz those cables, while i modded those too, well no good :-)
SF750 Platinum
Aerocool Project 7 650w Platinum which was developed in collaboration with Techpowerup. Never thought I would recommend let alone buy a Aerocool psu but this unit is up with the best. It's fully modular and it's cables include a pair of EPS leads and four single pci-e leads (no daisy chained connectors here). The 140mm fan is off until it hits 60% load and even then only runs at 500rpm until 80% load. I got it while it was on offer at CCL last year for just £82.
Fractal Design Ion+ 660W Platinum, which replaced an Enermax Infinity 650W recently.
Corsair SF series.
one that i got from my spares drawer after my enermax naxn 350w went bang and possibly took my 750ti with it. Or the other way around, not quite sure which, i was getting food.
so that'll be the 4th enermax PSU in last few years to pop.
enermax naxn 350w, also a 450 and a 500 pro 82+ from 2009 ish. cant remember sisters one.
pros for my bluestorm II 400w. it still works after being in a drawer for 4 years.
cons. i need a new one anda new GPU.
I wanted a Superflower / Seasonic this time around but non in stock, i waited like 4 weeks and in the end gave up and went a Corsair 850w. The old EVGA G2 were really good still have one in another pc
Mine's an EVGA SuperNOVA 750 G3.
I've had no problems thus far, and I don't anticipate any either - I have registered it for the full 12 year warranty though, so I should be covered if any do crop up.
Thermaltake Toughpower 1000w, been running like a charm for many many years now, purchased here 2nd hand.
I hope to get another 10 years out of it.
Thermaltake Toughpower XT 875w
Survived a 290x crossfire setup back then and has remained since.
I wanted a Seasonic initially but, as with Jace007, the one I wanted wasn't estimated to be back in stock until December this year.
I turned to Corsair and the RM750x, largely down to the way Corsair have handled warranty returns on the RAM that went belly up in my old system (painless with no quibbles and quick). On reflection I probably should have gone a wee bit higher in the power levels judging by the way modern GPU's seem to be hoovering up power.
Seasonic Prime Ultra Titanium 750W.
Coolermaster 600Watt Silent Pro M Gold - Best part of six years now. Cannot fault it.
From what I read they get a lot of stick recently but I use EVGA (Supernova 80+ Gold), and with my other system Corsair ofc. I am surprised by some newer budget PSUs (40-75 price range) using the plastic covered wires instead of the braided wires.
850 wt fractal design ion gold modular. brand new.
Corsair TX650M 650W Semi-Modular 80+ Gold.
XFX 1000W Pro Series 80 Plus Platinum
A top of the range Enermax. I can't even remember what power it is (550/650W)??. Anyway it's I think the 3rd Enermax I have had since I started building PC's in the mid 90's and is probably 12-15 years old. Worth evey penny, the first one was double the price of some of the others I looked at. I'd probably still have it, but it would only have been 300ish watts. The one I'm using now has done at least 3 upgrades.
Corsair HXi 1200W.
Pros - it powers my RTX 3090 happily.
Cons - it uses a lot of power. :p
ITX build so ended up grabbing an EVGA SuperNOVA 650 GM.
Best bit is, it should have been £80 good as new on Facebook Marketplace, but the guy selling it found out I was in the NHS and (after much arguing to not be silly from my part) sold me it for £30!
Bargain of the century SFF PSU, from a properly good Samaritan.
MSI MPG A850GF UK PSU '850W, 80 Plus Gold. Fully modular, Just need something like a 3080 to complete the build.
Corsair CX650M - does the job
Corsair AX1200 now for about 3 years.
Seasonic 1250W going strong now for 11 years
Corsair AX860i about 7 years
Rm series rm850 850w '80 plus gold'
650 seasonic prime platinum, nuff said.
After having an Antec PSU go bang on me many years ago and discovering most PSU are only made by a few companies I've always gone to the horses mouth so to speak and bought Seasonic.
Current one is a 7 year old Seasonic Platinum SS-760XP2.
A Seasonic Prime Titanium 650 W.
I felt they were a bit stingy on the length of the EPS12V connector considering that most cases fit the PSU at the bottom nowadays and so I had to get a short extension to be able to route the cable around the edge instead of diagonally behind the motherboard.
My Ryzen 9 5900X system with 2080ti is running off a Cougar GX 1050w Platinum rated PSU, never skips a beat, never makes a sound and was superb value (built by Super Flower or FSP I think)
Kolink 350w sfx.
Mine's currently a EVGA 550W non-modular non-80+. I was going to buy high efficiency and modular, but caught a sale. Next time, though. Cables take up too much room in my mini-ITX box.
I like how many people are using SFX or even pico sized PSUs. Would be fun to make a tiny build with a laptop-style adapter. I wonder why motherboards with DC connectors aren't much of a thing?
be quiet! Straight Power 11 750W
Seasonic Prime 850w Ultra Titanium Fully modular.
Corsair HX1200i Platinum
Superflower Leadex 850W. I was running SLI Titans at the time.
Seasonic 520W. Bought it back in 2012, still chugging on faithfully.
Seasonic Focus PX-750. Think it's my 4th Seasonic PSU, had no problems in the 3 weeks it's been running my newbuild.
Seasonic Prime Ultra Titanium 650W. Bought it in 2018 to replace a Corsair TX650W Gold that lasted 6.5 years (just over its 6 year warranty). No complaints about the Seasonic, and unless standards change, I may well still be using it in 2030.
XFX ProSeries (Black Edition) 750W Fully Modular
EVGA Supernova P2 1200W in my main machine, it's a leftover from when crossfire was a thing.
Corsair HX850
Corsair AX850 80 Plus Titanium (rebranded Seasonic) in main
Seasonic Core Gold GC-650 650W 80+ Gold in 2nd PC
All Corsair in our house latest new media server CX750, My game system TX750 V2, old media server VX450 and oldest being a 10 year old TX650 which was my old game system but now my brother
Corsair RMX550 - almost completely silent. Same PSU, same PC as when this question was asked in 2016.
Just coming up to four years for my 500W EVGA White 80Plus
