SK hynix claims its HBM3 is capable of 665MB/s bandwidth

Compares well against HBM2E's max bandwidth of 460GB/s.

You can only use that gif once more this month!
665MB/s ?
Density increase would be nice but yeah, that's going to be a while before they have the capacity to do that..

Its an accurate realtime representation of stock levels.
I can replace it with a Dodo if you want to?? Tumbleweed??

This is why GPU shortages are bad kids! No new GPU means no virtual shooty-shooty! Gamers have no choice but to hunt real unicorns!

Stock levels are only really bad for GPUs, and HBM isn't really in the GPU market these days. More likely to turn up in high end (as in 25GbE and up) network switches and similar things that require a big FPGA to work.

Stock levels, what stock levels?! Its HBM2 all over again - a Hynix Unicorn special!
"Let's announce another Unicorn product to stop our investors getting twitchy" - the 2021 motto of tech companies! ;)

As a Vega 56 owner, who knows other Vega 56 owners, I'm not sure what you are getting at there. I assure you HBM2 exists, though I'm not taking the heatsink off just to show you :D

It existed at the Vega launch(Vega Radeon Instinct) but it wasn't Hynix Unicorn HBM2,it was Samsung HBM2! :P

It was the irony of AMD and Hynix bigging it all,Hynix then delaying it forcing AMD to go to Samsung for the launch.

I gather my card has higher ebay value thanks to the Samsung ram as well. Funny old world eh.

I think it could overclock better. I would also be inclined to sell it too:

Radeon 7 never had shortages... No-one wanted to buy it, but 16 GB of faster RAM than a 3090 (25% faster, once you account for PAM4) wasn't a limiting factor in availability or cost

Supply had improved by then. But I was talking about Vega10. The first models released were Radeon Instinct models, but AMD had to also go to Samsung to get enough HBM2 supplies for both these and the consumer models. Apparently Samsung also charged more, which is why you had all that limited time pricing when Vega64 and Vega56 launched.
