I avoided Steam for quite a few years, and I can't remember why I finally gave in and created an account. Since then I've spent $548.39
i just checked
$1,824.87
I remember I bought my first game via Steam in 2012, and that was Portal 2 - I'd already had a Steam account since I got the Orange Box around 2007-ish I think, but never touched it as I didn't trust it. Now, apparantly, I have spent $375.09/£271.53, which is more than I thought I would have.
Over all the years, I have spent $502... an average of £2.60 per game. Sounds pretty cheap, overall.
That's not even enough to buy a graphics card, these days!
All told, adding it all up and including everything, it must be .... well, about .... lemme see .... £0. That's $0 for anyone struggling with currency conversion. :D
£80.23 since may 2012.
$369. But it's not my original account, I must have started again maybe 5-6 years ago. Thanks to Steams inability to still not have an option to rename an account!
Tanner an'a bob. Nowadays I go down the ole GOG store n'pay n'more than 'apenny.
I haven't brought anything for myself from Steam since August 2017. This as I came to the conclusion I will not support rent-a-games any more. All games since have been purchased from GoG. Prior to that between December 2010 to August 2017 is spent about £540 on 117 games. So about £4.60 a game.
For note, I actually joined Steam in November 2004. This having brought (externally to Steam), the Half-Life 2 Retail pack. Another four games in my collection were brought in the same manner prior to the first game I brought through Steam in 2010.
TotalSpend $8.67
Pretty sure it's nothing, haven't even got steam installed at the moment...
Most of the games I've been playing of late have been 'free to play' and I try to get them direct from them rather than via steam etc. I do have a couple of 'free' games from epic/ubisoft but can't say I've spent much there either.
Since 29 Apr 2006 (Half-Life 2 Retail Collectors)
TotalSpend $1,326.14
Quite frugal considering that's over 15 years, less than my RTX 3090 cost me (doubt that'll last 15 years!).
Erm, nothing!
Mine says $693.75 most of my games are from Humblebundle and gmg.
I have 316 games on Steam for a total of $936.56 but many of them have been from the likes of Humble Bundle and others. Not sure if add-ons are included in the games total either.
$531 since 2011. Strange as I've been gaming since day one of Steam... Half Life anyone?
$650
Bugger all of nothing.
I don't play games.
About $700 over the last (nearly) 12 years according to mine, but that obviously doesn't count the majority of games gained via Humble Bundle (and to a lesser extent Humble Store) purchases.
EDIT: That's as 'OldSpend', so it'll actually be higher than that on Steam itself. I don't have a 'TotalSpend' part showing.
Uuuhh... $2,689.27
I'm swapping to GOG slowly, I swear.
$1,300.86
wtf....
Huh.
$3841.52 15 over almost 16 years.
Looks like a fair chunk of that is stuff for Rocksmith 2014, so
Nothing.
$29,682.72
Is this a shameful attempt at hiding a pId advert, just before a sale?
An economy busting $46.83, which in real money at todays exchange rate equates to £33.91. Thats since October 2016. Think I need to tighten my belt a little....
Before 2015: $1,167
Total: $1,916
Plus the $100 registration for my game AlCHeMoS which now has a free demo available as part of the Steam Next Fest! (I won't spam links here but it's searchable) :)
It's probably why my spend is across more than just one storefront. I know having multiple storefronts eats resources (which I don't notice with more RAM and a better CPU etc), but it's definitely better than having everything in the same basket so to speak.
I suppose really, the best way to go is to have a separate email address per game, different storefront account / user per game. That way any action is limited to one account, with the added benefit of being able to sell the game should you wish to (as it's more disposable that way). I do understand your concern though.
It's be great to see spend per year - I'm on $1000 and the first game I redeemed on Steam was Dawn of War 2 on release, so that doesn't count towards this.
$100 a year for 10 years seems reasonable enough. I can't remember the last game I bought through Steam itself.
My value is not accurate,as it won't take into consideration some purchases I made in the last few years. So its off by about £50.Quote:
This is a sum of external funds that have been applied to your Steam account, either to purchase games on the Steam store or fund your Steam Wallet. These values are calculated only when needed and are not always current. If the values are not presented below, they are not currently stored in our database but you can always find a full list of your purchases at https://store.steampowered.com/account/history. "TotalSpend" is the total amount of external funds applied to your account. This value is used to determine if an account is a "Limited User Account". "OldSpend" is the amount of external funds applied before Friday, April 17, 2015 18:00:00 UTC. If your account was linked to Perfect World for CS:GO or Dota 2, "PWSpend" will be the approximate USD value of funds applied from Perfect World, otherwise that value will be zero.
$1903.03
A lot of titles I have on my account are from bundles so definitely spent way more than that over the years.
Looking on the SteamDB Calculator comes up with a lot more!
$721.41 total spend / $470.54 old spend....not sure if old spend is included in total?
TotalSpend 2021-06-18 12:15:17.287 $6,179.53
Over 15 years.
Someone's cooked up some javascript over here that will give you a total for Humble, if that helps!
I was 1 of the first people on Steam but didn't buy anything digital until 2009, before that I bought physical and imported them in to Steam. Hard to believe how quickly time has gone by as I've just realised I've only bought 1 thing since 2011 but in those 2 years I spent £240.
$2,129 over 16 years
But nothing since April 2015..
Then I came to the conclusion that steam was really unfriendly to families.. All games since have been purchased from GoG or 3rd parties
493 games in total..
So about $5 per game (including money spent on Humble/Fanatical)
About 1,238 dollars and so on.
just shy of $700 which isn't too shabby given the amount of games I've got for that over the years.
a few hundred quid
OldSpend $1,056.64
$221 since February 2010. Seems very good over that time.
$3,752.18 across 2,688 games. Alot of these games are purchased on cheaper sites such as cdkeys or fanatical due to the change in Steam's sales and discounts.
Just edited my earlier post to mention that my "about $700" was actually only the 'OldSpend' part (and thus inaccurate), as mine isn't even showing the 'TotalSpend' right now.
A quick search suggests that 'TotalSpend' disappears for a little while if you bought something recently (which I did, a couple of DLCs), so it can take time to recalculate the total.
Just under $1400. Considering I've had a Steam account since 2008, that's not too bad. Although the OldSpend is $300, so it really amounts to less than $50/year the first few years, and a bit under $200/year the past 6 years. Still seems reasonable considering I was in college and didn't have much of an income early on. I know my average hardware spend per year was higher than that game average for the first half of that time, and am pretty sure it's been higher the second half.
That doesn't include HumbleBundle/my GOG library, but probably covers most of my games (approximately 430 on Steam including Humble, 70 on GOG), especially by playtime. I believe it also covers games that are gifts, which I'd guesstimate at a couple hundred of the total.
$130.41
That is definitely not right, as i've spent more than that directly in steam in the past few months....although the vast majority of my steam library comes from humble bundle or similar.
So that is not a completely accurate figure!
$2,208.25 (£1,587)
Seems low to be honest...
$43.19
I buy most titles externally from the likes of cdkeys.
$260.90
I buy most of my keys externally though as they are normally always cheaper than steam.
$149. doesn't include stuff bought elsewhere and redeemed on steam though, which I think is several multiples of that.
Total Spend $2,698.64
Old Spend $986.31 (before 2015)
First purchase according to Steam was Left 4 Dead 6th of November 2008... damn im feeling old.
lol ive spent $1,824.43 with 16 years almost 17 lol and 407 games and more to add later
Here's my numbers.
OldSpend 2021-05-28 23:53:18.890 $0.00
PWSpend 2021-05-28 23:53:18.890 $0.00
All of my games are FREE.
I copy & pasted everything under LICENSES and got 223 rows, so 223 free games.
Since May, 2013 - $320
On pre-order I only by AAA titles that I'm super hyped about.
Everything else on sale with 67%+ OFF.
https://steamdb.info/calculator/76561198000344221/
$99.01
But I buy a lot of stuff on Humble Bundle and other sites :)
Not a single penny, I don't rent games I buy them.
