The Hong Kong-based project makers plan to ship orders in August this year, but by that time you will miss out on the significant early bird discounts on Kickstarter…
True enough, but I s'pose that's the point - discount for risk-taking. The risk-averse (like me) will have to wait, an d apy more.

I can see some specific situations where this could be very useful, like editing setups, but I doubt I personally have any need that would justify the cost, even at early bird levels. When (and if) it hits retail, maybe i'll look again but right now, while looking interesting, I don't have a need.

Honestly as someone that does a bit of video editing I'm honestly struggling to see where I would use it.... the screen is totally flat as well which won't help from an ergonomic standpoint either imo.

I can literally think of maybe two worthwhile use case scenarios for the screen when it's attached to the keyboard, chat box while gaming and maybe a screen with temps/fps etc but even then I think they'd be hard to use due to the them being flat rather than slightly angled.

I can kind of see a use for the 'mini' screen if it was detached though, it could be run alongside or underneath a screen, could be good for history and/or in photoshop, chat windows, temps, spotify etc.

One thing I wouldn't be using it for is what's shown in the image, a keyboard with a screen attahed to a laptop, which is a keyboard with a screen attached to it...

Yeah, tbh I did think of those type of things but didn't mention them.

See, I keep getting told, by people who know far better than me, that keyboards with screens like my Logitech G19 are just stupid Gamer fads, that no-one wants them and that they have no purpose.... yet here is yet another example of many such products, with people throwing money at it.

I almost bought this but shied away because the screen is not manouverable and I'm uncomfortable that it exists on the same linear plane as the keyboard for RSI and viewing. If the screen had 3 or so angles it can be adjusted to and fixed in position (30 degrees would have been my preferred) I would have dumped my cash on this straight away.

I would have used it for 3D modelling, my 3D printing slicer hotkeys and when gaming used it as an Elgato soft key deck.

A reasonable (edit: reasonable as in, it exists and has reviews) mechanical keyboard with removable/replaceable switches: ~£45
Elgato Stream Deck (15 key): ~£140

I mean, that's already £185 right there which is comparable with the early bird with delivery at £183.

Plus, this is an actual touchscreen meaning I can adapt it to however I want and is in a handy and integrated form factor rather than having it dotted around my table.
