So is the existing version staying on sale alongside this?

That seems to be the plan for the time being.

After having recently used the kickstand recently for the first time I think the upgrade to it in the new model should have been in from the start. The original is far too small, unstable and leaves the Switch too vertical for use on something like a coffee table.

'So, what happened with the new Nvidia SoC, DLSS, and 4K Switch gaming?' If it ain't broke, why fix it? is probably the reason why. The Switch is selling more than all the other consoles combined at the moment.

That minor thing called shortages on things like cpu's might also be playing a part in the lack of a new soc. Have the design ready to go but release 'next year' instead.

And...I use my own switch much more than my Xbox. The convenience of being able to play handheld is so much more of a killer feature than I had imagined...best way to get a Diablo fix whilst on the move, or in bed, or on the sofa whilst the OH is watching corrie...etc

I will probably upgrade, and gift my current one to my nephew. Since I spend most of my time in handheld mode as it is the screen upgrade alone makes it worthwhile.

maybe we'll see the rumoured xCloud app one day (OK i'll keep dreaming..but it would be a massive deal for the switch!)

Magic. Same screen tech as my PS Vita, albeit a slightly higher resolution. That's 9 years progress

And more expensive. Goes to show how greedy and arrogant nintendo is and clearly seems like they can be, switch continues to sell really well despite keeping the original price and being a completely outdated platform.

I don't really get the appeal but to each his own

Is this still running on the same SoC as the nVidia Shield Tablet K1?
