Microsoft's profits are up nearly 50 per cent

Is there any clarity on whether these figures are impacted by Microsoft's huge spending spree on games studios (e.g. Bethesda and their Parent Group)?

Windows not declining is it doing well. They have a huge share of the market and not losing customers is an achievement. Also, Windows fuels their other segments due to the massive brand awareness. Single digit growth is good in this area.

As I said in the Win 11 thread. Win 11 isn't the biggest focus. Get an upgrade to Win 11 but they really want you to get Office365 and the other stuff

They can have two fingers? Maybe a fart in their general direction?

maybe this is the point of TPM2 - so many people don't have it, so log in to Win365 instead and don't worry, you can keep using your "aging" skylake machine.

one strategy. A cloud computing system is never going to be as secure and reliable as a standalone machine that will at least function with no internet (sorta)
Windows isn't the end game any more. Office365, cloud computing and services are. Business users will upgrade to Win 11 simply because they all run Windows...
The enthusiasts or gamers, well they can either go to a different OS or Xbox. Simples

Not upgrading to windows 11 is like driving a Tesla with a loaded LPG cooking cylinder in the frunk. Do you remember the story of Kaspersky developing viruses? Microsoft can too; "the virus only affects windows 10"

Careful, the last thing we need is a run on tin foil...

Ignoring the rest of the absolute rubbish you posted, the part in bold was not the story. Read up on the actual story. They did not develop a virus.

No, that was the Chinese, wasn't it? That's what the people on the internweb keep telling me.

You're welcome.
P.S. Deep, deep sarcasm and silliness in this post. You'd do best to ignore it and move on rather than dignify it with a response.

Yea why banned in the USA? Also is Microsoft 100% clean? Do we trust cooperates? West versus East no one is absolutely clean. All the back-doors and corporate espionage we hear. Nvidia and Hardware Unboxed....AMD and FX processors.... If the cooperates are clean why is the EU on the neck of Microsoft, Apple, Alphabet etc. Why is china worried of USA operating systems/hardware and vice-versa.

A side effect of their stance over W8 for me wasn't to drive me to upgrade Windows to retain use of office, but the drive me to switch to Libre because of their stance over W8, and their move towards 365, be it Office or Windows. Personlly, I'm not moving to subscription services like that, ever. Subscription services might make sense for some users, especially business users, but they're an utter non-starter for me, whether it be Office, Photoshop, or whatever. Which is why I also found an alternative to Adobe for my photo needs .... and frankly, find them every bit as good if not better, and much cheaper and easier. Then again, the drive to software as a service isn't aimed at me or those like me. I get that, too..

To be fair, I have spent a lot of the last year on Teams calls and it has worked well even under Linux. They probably do deserve some money for that.
