Looks like they have gone for 70s design - all beige!
Re: Custom Google Tensor chip is "biggest innovation" in Pixel 6
After realising that only things like the FairPhone still have removable batteries, I started looking at other phones where the battery isn't housed like Fort Knox.
I remember one of the Moto G - maybe the G5 - where the cover could be removed and the battery was just screwed down - things like that cannot be searched for with gsmareana's search tool.
Anyway, I was surprised that the Pixel 5 (or was it the 4) is actually relatively repairable. No microSD is automatic no from be, though.

The Moto G5 had a removable base and the battery could be ejected, was a great phone.

Hah , glad to hear that. I had 1st and 3rd gen moto's then had a Cubot x19 , usual dropped twice and screen cracked up badly. Just bought a new Moto G5. Not into phones as such but very much needed these days workwise. Would never spend more than £100 on one , it's for calls , texts and the camera is handy for work.

Apparently the sealed bodies are for waterproofing, but my Motorola Defy was waterproof and had a removable battery.

Why do companies insist on having a camera bump? If there's going to be a bump, then simply fatten the rest of the phone and put a bigger battery in it. I don't get why "slim" phones are more popular over a phone that can literally last longer without a charge.

Yes, pull the other one ye-maker-of-landfill-widgets!
Plenty of glues body phones which aren't even splash resistant.
Had a Defy/Defy+ back in the day. Was pretty robust. Actually one of the last or the last Galaxy with removable battery, S5, was waterproof too. It's amazing what a few rubber seals could do back then.

People want slimmer phones. Despite the battery life issues in polls slimmer phones always outweigh bigger batteries....
Same as big screens that mean phones don't fit in pockets anymore - people always go for a bigger screen if they can for media consumption. The last 18 months have reversed trends a little with people buying laptops again for zoom/teams meetings but they then still use their phone whilst "at work" to watch stuff, especially when their employers are tracking what they do on the laptop

They were built like tanks.

Only two cameras in the non pro? Lame, it's not like they're short on space in the camera bar

A modern Clippy.... yep. Although at least Clippy didn't scrape all your metadata.
