Everything else aside, squeezing 240hz into 4K is *impressive*. Feels like only recently they did 120hz

Re: AUO announces an 85-inch 4K panel with 240Hz refresh

    Indeed.

I am currently on a 27" - 144 Hz 1080p screen, my target is to get to 1440p / 240 Hz, and then by some miracle someone actually make a damn game worth playing.

85" is just so fawked up in my world, even for a TV,,,,, and i dont even have a TV anymore, but for the console gamer it would probably be sweet, but i have barely touched a console, last time i tried one PlayStation 2 was the rage.

I use a 48" TV as my monitor, it's so much better. Going back to small screens makes me feel so boxed in

Re: AUO announces an 85-inch 4K panel with 240Hz refresh

I tried a 42" TV as monitor for a few days when my 22" CRT screen died,,,,, it was quite impressive on my large computer table, and i can not rule out that option if i one day build my own "gamer" chair around a recliner chair.
I lost the pic but i took a extremely rare selfie of myself with a big smiley on my 42" screen in the background, the biggest GD smiley i have ever seen on my computer

I am favoring this kind of big VS the wrap around screens, which i granted have not tried but just find so off putting just having seen them on the interweb.

Re: AUO announces an 85-inch 4K panel with 240Hz refresh

I treated myself last Xmas to a new 42" 4K LG TV. Due to space restrictions this doubles as a TV and monitor and is a comfortable size for both. I don't game so refresh rates are of no concern as such , any bigger I think would be too big as a work monitor. Having an 85" screen is ridiclous unless you have a massive room and sit 20' away , could save on wallpaper if you are into that I suppose. lol. Home cinema is the only practical usage, again if you have the room and negates a projection screen set up.
