Rosedale is based on the IEEE 802.16-2004 standard that is designed to provide wireless broadband Internet access to end-users beyond Wi-Fi range and speed. According to Intel, the technology one day will complement 3G mobile phone networks and offer seamless wireless Internet access for applications such as TDM Voice and IP-based real-time video from virtually anywhere.
